sitting on me feet.
First topic message reminder :
when im sitting in my chair watchng telly or with the laptop ect macks often comes over and sits directly on top of my feet, does anybody else's dog do this and whats it all about?? i have read that it could be either a dominant thing or showing affection?? dont think its him trying to dominate me. any thoughts on this.

Re: sitting on me feet.
I cant beleive I have only just seen this topic so here is my story.
I had a mongrel dog she was 11 years old and died of kidney failure, my heart was broken. My hubby wanted to get me another but I couldnt replace her. After a couple of years we as a family decided to get another dog the kids and my hubby found a litter of stb for sale locally, I was horrified and they persuaded me to have a look. We walked into the house and they had 4 dogs in the house all takin in there turn to clean the pups. The mother dog came over to me and sat on my feet I had sandles on and these enormous teats covered my feet they were so warm, she then laid her head upon my lap and stayed like that for about 20 mins with me stroking her. This was my first meeting with a sbt and one I will never forget I fell completely in love and wanted one just like her.
My answer to that question would be that they just want to be with you and even though I was a complete stranger and her most prized possesions (puppies) were close by she wanted interaction and love from a human. Thanks for posting just been down memory lane

Aw, it's lovely sometimes to go back & remember! I think you've hit the nail on the head - they just want to be with a human & get a bit of comfort & fuss!
