1st doggy daycare day
Well, we dropped Ruby off at 9.30 this morning, she practically pulled us in there so she obviously remembered it was where she met the other dogs last time, tail was wagging so fast it was a blur, and off she pottered with the lady without so much as a glance back at us nice to know we are missed! Just had a text from the daycare staff and they say shes doing fabulously. I so want to be there to watch her play with the other dogs, but the daycare do post pictures and videos of the dogs on their website and facebook for their owners to see them playing etc so im hoping they get some nice pics of her having fun i was so excited for her, but now im home its too quiet and i want my buddy back roll on later this afternoon when we go pick her up, didnt think id miss her getting under my feet and throwing her toys at me while playing

Re: 1st doggy daycare day
Should be great for socialization and always nice to have a good place to take them to if the need arises

Re: 1st doggy daycare day
Its all very easy going there, we went in on monday to have her assessed for her suitability to mix with other dogs/people, which simply involved her mooching about with Noodle the labradoodle, playing a few games with toys and the lady interacting with her. She was taken into a smaller gated off section of the main hall, where she played with the laradoodle and sniffed and met the other daycare dogs through the gate. She had a quick walk with another dog too to make sure she walked well with them etc and could go out for a wee. We were there for about 20mins-half hour or so i think. We did pre-book a time to take her in for the assessment yes. There were about 5 or 6 other dogs there on the day we took Ruby in, today im not sure as we didnt go out the back, but there are quite a few that go if you look on their website at the videos. Really looking forward to the puppy party on saturday too. Its costing us £20 for the whole day today, a real bargain i feel for the socialisation aspect. Hopefully one day Ruby can be in on the same day as Sky and they can meet and play together

Re: 1st doggy daycare day
Aww bless her, we have a similar one nearby I might send our new pup once a week come to think of it. As others have said great for socialisation! Going to take him to every puppy class going I couldn't bear to have another DA dog. Even though I did that with all my other dogs It only takes one attack from another dog though to change everything

Re: 1st doggy daycare day
Ruby looks very happy!
Callie does doggy day care 2 days a week. She loves it--always excited to get out of car and go in. Just this AM I happened to see her go into the puppy enclosure--seemed like she was very excited to be there. I think it's great, it has given her more dog socialization than we would have had time to do, and I think it's why she's so resilient around other dogs.
Our breeder did feel it best to find one where puppies can be with puppies. Apparently at most where we are they are grouped only by size. Thought I'd pass that on...

Re: 1st doggy daycare day
Well she had a wonderful day, she played happily with dogs of differing ages and sizes which is what we wanted, she totally wasnt fussed how big or small the other dogs were i have a video of her playing tuggy with her new friend Ludo, il see if i can link it without putting facebook on, it should take you straight to the youtube video. They said she was really well behaved and our training is going really well.

Looks like she had a great time making new friends and having fun with them. Its a great idea for getting your dog well socialised at an early age, well done you
