Picked Bodhi up today.
Hello all, hope everyone had a great christmas and new year.
We picked the little man up today and so far so good, he has been golden. He will let you know when he needs toilet and if he's been quick enough to let us know he goes outside no problem the breeder also told us of a couple of mannerisms so we have watched for them too with great success, so proud. Kids so far h
ave been good too, a little excited but I think things will go fine. He also loves his crate and took himself off to it a couple of times to have a nap. Can't believe how well today went but no illusions i'm sure my bubble will be burst soon enough..lol..xx

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
Oh, he looks so sweet! And he has the same bed as Dempsey, only Dempsey's has been chewed a bit!
I'm sure he's gonna settle really well - no problems at all, you'll see...........

Ohhh he looks so cute.. glad he likes his crate.
Kids look so happy to have him home...
great that the breeder has been taking notice for you that is exellent.
hope he doesnt cry for you tonight x
I noticed that you didnt divide the crate?.. i have only allowed Holly about 1/3 of her crate untill we get the toilet thing 100%..
She has never gone in her crate tho so i am wondering when i should take out the divider and let her have the whole space..

Whenever you feel comfortable with it............you can try it & if it doesn't work, put it back again.

I never actually divided Dempsey's crate, I just put the bottom half of his pet carrier in it, so he had somewhere to lie down to sleep, and somewhere to pee if he really had to!

Well Holly sure loves to chew... she has a thousand toys scattered around the lounge room and she still wants to chew the carpet or blinds!.. we are forever yelling... "ahhhhh Leave it".. starting to sound like a broken record lol

You'll be saying it to people, soon, without realising it - it becomes 2nd nature!

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
Aww he's gorgeous! My charlie has the same toy, the one with the face in the middle and the ring around it, its his fave. Re the crate divider Mel, if Holly has never messed in her crate, I'd take it out and see how she goes. If she does mess, just put it back in. Charlie does mess in his crate, reducing his space didnt work. He still did and was then laying in it so I took the divider out and put his bed at one end and papered the other. At least if he does mess, he'll do it at the opposite end to his bed and wont have to lay in it.

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
Hi, thank you all for your great comments.
Mel - breeder said he had never messed in or around his bed so we decided not to divide it and so far so good. Holly is so beautiful i'm sure she wouldn't want to get herself messed up so i'd take it out see how she gets on as others said you can always put it back. xx

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
WOW that is great news about Bodhi .. the breeder sounds like they really took great care of him... 8 weeks is such a great age to get a puppy..
never again will I take a 6 week old pup.. they just learn so much in those last 2 weeks from their mummies.
Sooooo how was your first night at home with him?.. did he cry or was he settled in his crate?
I am not sure about not messing her pretty paws up!!! I was picking the poo up in the yard and she jumped straight it in...... 8pm bath was not on the list.... we just soaped up her feet and rinsed them off.... to think she could put those polished claws in poo!
lol

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
lol at Holly she sounds such a character.
We couldn't be more pleased with how last night went, 10.30 outside for business then bed in crate, we had no whineing or barking got up to check him at 3.30 outside for business then back to bed and then we were all up at 7 no mess or anything just sitting up wagging his tail waiting for us.
I'm sure something will go pear shaped soon enough though!!
The breeder is brill she's been showing and breeding staffs for nearly 30 years we had our other 2 off her as well and they were both brill dogs too.
Oh well lets see what day 2 brings up. lol xx

Re: Picked Bodhi up today.
What a cutie and she's got kids to play with...our crate is covered over with a blanket to make a den...Piggy sleeps in there at night only and it's open for her...during the day she sleeps on a large poufee or outside on a dog bed or on the sunlounger in summer....
