Wasnt going to bother.

Getting Tali scanned as the vets charged me £80 last time and that was 4 years ago. But have come across a fellow stafford breeder who has undertaken a course in ultrasounding and only charges £20! So hopefully going to take Tali tonight. I hope she is pregnant I'm going to be sad if she hasn't caught. u even get a photo of the scan emailed to you!

Well the scan went really well! She can confirm that Tali is definately pregnant and she thought she could see 3 pups, possibly 4 but was reluctant to say for sure. It was quite interesting actually and a much more personal experience than the vets.

I was also reluctant to take her into a germ-ridden surgery and stress her out for no real reason. She stood on a vetbed and had warm gel on her tummy then got a belly massage for twenty minutes. She loved it! Didnt even try to move once. Highly recommended!

I think I ought to warn you, though, that an EBT breeder I know did the same thing & was told there were 3 puppies. "That's ok, then" says the breeder "I've got 4 people on my waiting list, I want to keep one, so I can pick & choose who the other two go to".

Her bitch duly went into labour & produced 2 bitches & a dog.

is it wrong that I went aw and feel all warm and fuzzy looking at the scan pic but when friends show me their hooman ultra sound pics (and there seem to be alot lately) I'm happy for them but its much more of a 'yeah lovely!' reaction

Thanks everyone, I'm sure Tali appreciated all the extra love being sent her way. Well we thought she was due on 31st July (thats 63days from her first mating) but when the lady scanned her she thought that the puppies looked like they were 3/4 days less developed than we had anticipated. So now we are guessing her due date as 3/4th of August. Exciting stuff and she did warn that sometimes puppies are hidden. She said they can definately surprise, one weimeramer (sp?) she had apparently didnt even look pregnant at 7 weeks and produced 6 pups!

Shes turning into a little porker now though, groans all the time when she moves and slobs around. Its so funny, and shes so clingy and cuddley. Constantly sitting on your lap and trying to clean your ears!

I do hope you plan on sharing lots of pics

of course! I've got a few days off too so I'll be on the floor with my camera taking pics. You lot are going to be sick of the sight of my puppies!
