Tommy's First real walk
So the little man will be 11 weeks on Wednesday and looking forward to taking him out on his first real walk, he has been out a few times now with Tilly tucked up in my coat, met some proper gushy puppy people and had some good sniffs though so he knows it's not so scarey out there. Just not decided yet whether to try and walk them together or separate for the first few times , any thoughts from you lot ??

Hi Dave how exciting I know exactly how you feel it can be abit scary too babys first aventure, I jumped straight in and walked them together and it was the best thing i could have done, Ava from day one just followed Skye everywhere and still does,
Hope it all goes well make sure you get pictures as they make my day and i need some cheering up

I wouldn't know, you probably won't get far though with all the sniffing

Re: Tommy's First real walk
I used to take the pup out on its own unless we were going to the park by car. Most of my dogs have been pretty high energy, and the pace of a pup would have driven them mad!

mmm we did have a little tiny sample this morning as whilst out under my coat I put him down on the floor at the kids playpark thing for a short sniff and off lead Tilly just went straight into headbutting , leg biting action as she does in the garden. Not sure if she thought it was play time or just not his right to get a walk with daddy

Tilly was more than likely just showing what is polite doggie behaviour in the park.

Maybe an idea to start your walk with just Tilly then go home to collect Tommy for last few minutes and he woudn't need as much walking anyway yet.

Re: Tommy's First real walk
Hope you get some pics of his walk
I took Bella out along with Millie. It meant that she walked great because she just followed Millie and didn't pay any attention to her lead. Millie also didn't like Bella very much so I hoped that them walking together would help with that lol

On his first walk it is vital that you have one hand available for holding a camera. Oh and a big memory card so we get lots of pics
