New to the site!

Hi everyone,

Just joined the site and wanted to introduce myself.
I am Steve, I live in Rochdale with my partner Nicola, our kids, and our 4 year old Staffy "Jackson"
In about 5 weeks our family will expand with the introduction of our new baby girl "Cookie". She is a beutiful little thing, she is a strange colour, fawn, a streak of blue, some white and chocolate chips!
I will post a picture when I find how to do it.

Is your pup registered with the KC?

Yes she is KC reg

I don't want to worry you, but the merle colouration is not a registerable colour for Staffordshire Bull Terriers. In order to be registered, the breeders will have had to lie about her colour.

It's entirely up to you whether or not you take the pup. However, you won't be able to show her or breed from her, and you will need to see if both parents were merle, because if they were, there could be health implications for the pup.

She's a unique colour very pretty welcome to the forum

Would not be interested in showing her anyway, she is going to be a family pet, The parents are both KC reg, dad is Blue and White, mum is White with a small red patch.

Just be aware that the KC registration form is worthless because they will have registered her as red & white (probably) in order for it to be accepted. If you're paying extra for a registered dog, you're being hoodwinked.

The colouration could have come from either side, then. I would think from grandparents & there will be more than one merle in the background. It might pay to do a bit of research into her background before you commit. Bear in mind that some merles can become totally blind and/or deaf before they reach 6 months old.

I'm not saying that will happen to Cookie, but you should be aware of the facts.
