advice on camping with sky?
Im just asking for a bit of advice...
Me and my partner were wondering about taking sky ( will be 14 weeks ) camping in 2 weeks time.
She would be kept near on a lead etc but im just wondering wether she would be too cold at night time?
We would take her bed and blanket, hot water bottle as usual etc
what do you think on this should we wait a couple of months?....we want to get her out and about and exploring

Re: advice on camping with sky?
Whereabouts are you planning to go?
She should be OK. Has she had all her vaccinations?
Sometimes it's more or less just as mild at night as it is during the day in the UK summertime anyway.

When we go camping we have a soft travel crate for Dempsey. He has his blankets in there and it's nice & snug & warm. Just try to keep him out of drafts & make sure he can't get out!

Re: advice on camping with sky?
only advice i would throw out there (from experiance) is with dogs having to be on leads in campsites at all times, the collar can rub, so might be an idea to take a harness as well and swap between the two (pets at home do a fairly sturdy harness for about £7 that does Lola for long spells)

Re: advice on camping with sky?
should be fine, i had Lola with me at 6 months in April at a site in Derbyshire last year, if she gets too cold she could always snuggle with you

Re: advice on camping with sky?
If you follow the advice given it should be a great trip and if she is cold I'm sure she will just come for a snuggle

The only thing I would consider is the amount of walking etc you'll be doing as it will tire out those little legs.

Re: advice on camping with sky?
not quite camping but we take Beau down the caravan, we take her crate and she sleeps in the awning - with a sleeping bag - she seems to sleep better there than at home!!!Beau is 12 weeks, We also took plenty of wind breaks to put in around the caravan so at least we could leave her off the lead for periods of time!! good luck im sure you will have heaps of fun :-D

Re: advice on camping with sky?
We went camping a few weeks back when we had the nice weather. Floyd had a few ticks on him when we came back! Due to running in the long grass i guess. Give your dog a check when you get back and check the arm pits. Have fun!
