First season Q
Hi folks
sasha has just come out of her first season she ate fine through her season but now she is off she has been verry picky at eating her food normally she wolfs it down but the past two days she just nibbles at it trhough the day at night time 5pm she gets her food and come 8 its still there but in the morning its gone so she is eating just not as she was
I put this down to her being a little worse for the where after finishing her season but this morning i was making kids breakfast and dropped some corn flakes in her bowl and she ate her whole bowl of food so my Q is would a a teaspoons worth of corn flakes in her bowl do her any harm? she's on pero STB

Re: First season Q
Personally I don't see a problem as long as it gets her eating , the thing is not too much and too often or she will become dependent on them for eating . Maybe some others will come along with other ideas but this approach works for me

Well i honestly dont want to encourage her to be one of thise fussy eaters hence why i let her eat when she was hungry before her season she couldnt wait to get her meals now she sniffs at it and walks away but when the corn flakes were in it she ate the bowl it was only a few flakes maybe 10/15 at most

Ha ha sounds just like Mia!
Can't get her to eat her own food but if something different is in it omg she wolfs it down!
Can't say I recommend it but we do give Mia bits of cooked chicken, a tinned sardine or tiny bit of cheese in her dinner to make her eat it!
We also found a tiny bit of wet dog food mixed with the dry helped!

Re: First season Q
They can feel a bit sorry for themselves during and just after their season.
I wouldnt over indulge the behaviour but nothing wrong with putting a lil but of natural yogurt or raw egg into the food for temptation. Don't leave it down for more than 20mins. She will eat when she's hungry. Other than that if u feel she may he unwell take her for a vet check x

Re: First season Q
My JRT was a fussy eater and got worse the more we pandered to it so in the end we put his breakfast (just dog food) down for 15 minutes, when he didn't eat it, we picked it up then put it down again at dinner time for another 15 minutes then repeated the process.
It only took a day or two for him to realise he wasn't going to get anything else and started eating his food when it was given to him.
If I was you then that's what I'd do. A health dog won't starve itself although I have heard of a dog that went without for about 4 or 5 days before eating!
Is she OK in herself otherwise? And not got any discharge?
