tantrum throwing staffy
Romeo is the king of drama and divas
so today when i found a swollen cut on his foot, cleaned it up and patched him up, well he was having none of it. At first he tried to pull all the bandage off, so i told him no a few times. In rebellion, he did what he normally does, goes to his bed and tosses all the blankets and throws himself on the ground a few times (i know he's strange its like having a 2 year old) but then ... he PEED all over his bed. i had only just taken him outside, so i took him out again but he wouldnt go out because its raining... he doesnt like the rain. so now he is whinning and tossing on the flor at my feet. he is puffing a little i can see he is stressed out so i am trying to keep him clam. Anyone would think i was being curel to him the way he plays it up... but this is not the first time he has done this, i took a toy away from him once and he threw himself on the floor and whined, like really... this is not laying this is throwing himself.. twice or sevral times on the floor and then kicking all his blankets out of his bed... he really throws a fit when he doesnt like something. He sounds like a right spoilt *... and.. he is. He is just normall a well behaved spoilt *, but i have never seen him pee in his own bed out of protst before.
Now he is just fussing around me and trying to get my attention....i'm ignoring him, he'll get it when he calms down... god... who needs kids when you have a staffy

Re: tantrum throwing staffy
lucky he is sleeping now and calm, but he really does.. he whines and cackles and makes all sorts of sounds when he wants smething or he has been told off... still in shock about him peeing on his bed.. what the hell...
after that he climbed on the bed and fussed all over the place stood on my lap and sat on the lap top, trying to lift my arm up with his nose and whining, but he was getting so worked up licking at his nose and puffing that i had to make him go on the floor.
thank god he is clam now.
when my friends see him do these thing they think there is something wrong with him, ESPECIALLY when he... kind of cackles like a hyena and a dolphin hybrid when he's really upset about something.
when he wants attention he rubs himself all over you, its how he greets as well. he does it to dogs when he wants their attention, often jumping on them and then rubbing his rump on them... he is a strange little chap.

They do make some strange noises dont they. Rocky stuffs his nose at the bottom of our garden gate and sounds like a horse snorting. I'm sure people around here think we are keeping donkeys in our back yard.

Re: tantrum throwing staffy
i know he's really freaked if he barks. he does it when a dog attacks him or when some one comes into the apartment with out knocking first. this has happened twice. i have a friend who has the keys to my apartment and he went MENTAL when some one just opened the door to the house and he didnt know who it was.

I guess he was just protecting his territory that would be a natural reaction when someone approaches who he dosnt know.

Romeo is quite teh character. I think there are people that think Suki is abused with all the noises she makes. Espically in the car

It would appear that Ledger has me well trained as to the level of how desperate he is to go for a walk/toilet 1. He sits on my knee/presses the keys on the laptop 2. he wraps himself over my shoulders 3. he runs back and forth to the door and will make panicy 'you really need to listen to me mom' noises.
He also has tantrums (usually just after I have tidied the house up) mostly the toys literally are thrown out of the basket and most of the charity shop toys are de-stuffed across the living room, he also wasn't impressed on Saturday when I took the duvet out of his plastic bed from upstairs (he rarely sleeps in it anyway) and used the bed outside to fill with water to keep him cool he kept looking between the water and me and huffing! he then turned and in a digging motion scooped most of the water out with his paws
I cant moan at his little moods though he is always on hand for a hug when I need one and on those days when I just have to hit the snooze button one more time by telling him '5 minutes' he will stop trying to lift my head off the pillow with his nose and curl up by my feet

I love the way they express themselves. And I agree, there is no dog on the planet that can turn it on like a Staffie.

Sounds like a proper Staffy tantrum to me. Would love to see him emptying the water out of the bed sounds hilarious What brilliant characters they are

Re: tantrum throwing staffy
Romow does something like that. if you put something in his bed that he doesnt want there he will dig it out and throw it away so to speak, only he is allowed to put toys and things in his bed... he's such a littöe fuss pot. i put all his toys in his bed this morning and when i came home, only his most loved ones were still in there XD
Re: tantrum throwing staffy
They are right little kids. Monte likes to steal toys from the other dogs. He doesn't even want them, he just wants to steal them. I sometimes think between the kids and dogs, I am going to end up in the loony bin . The peeing is just sorry!

Re: tantrum throwing staffy
Ha ha ha....sorry just these stories as sooooo funny, staffies certainly are the most hard case little dogs. Pene also snorts, huffs and puffs when not getting any attention. And as for the funny hyena like cackle, yep she's an expert at that specially when one of us is putting on running shoes, she goes crazy until we're out the door and starts like crazy if you stop too long. The staffy cackling, wimpering, talking is so gorgeous, we even get like a happy growl when we arrive home. Pene doesn't bark much but talks non stop!! They are simply the best.
