funny rash/small lumps
only noticed this today, wondering if anyone else has seen it...
on her stomach and chest, she has a red rash and is covered in small lumps, looks like a nettle sting (she has run thru nettles recently, but has also done it in the past and never rashed up like this)
its only on her front, as well as some small spots on her armpits (something else she's never had before)
she has been walking thru fields recently, and i dont know if the farmers use any pesticides round here
it doesnt seem to be bothering her, and if it is something chemical i've given her a good bath tonight, and will be avoiding fields for the next few days, and if nobody knows and it doesnt seem to be getting any better i'll get her into the vets mid week (or sooner if it gets worse)
thoughts?

Re: funny rash/small lumps
Looks like some kind of allergic reaction, hopefully someone comes along soon with a bit more of an idea but if it's not bothering her than at least you can see how it goes ove rthe next day or so but it might be worth letting the vet have a look anyway to be sure

It certainly looks like an allergic reaction to something. Do you have any Loratadine you could give her, this is an antistamine and should reduce the bumps. Tesco do there own brand.

Re: funny rash/small lumps
Looks very much like a reaction to something, try giving her a piriton tablet, if its an allergy to something or a reaction this should help. You could also try sudacrem on it can relieve any itching.
If she is acting odd tomorrow then maybe the vets but I wouldn't panic just yet Xx

it does seem to have eased off a tad, and she's taking the opportunity to snooze on my bed for a bit

She deserves to milk it! They all do it
Keep an eye and I hope she'll be good by morning

Re: funny rash/small lumps
Looks like an allergy to me. Don't know if it is from food or a plant though.

Re: funny rash/small lumps
Our Last Girl Jade had this exact problem for years before we found out she was allergic to grass. after years of anti- histamines and steriod tablets from the vet we found out ourselves and got rid of the grass and put in artifical lawn... Problem solved for us.
She would get that bad that she had the lumps burst :-(

Re: funny rash/small lumps
the lumps have gone right down but theres still a bit of redness. the parents have been home with her all day and say she's been normal behavour wise, and her usual self on a big walk earlier on. i'll ust avoid the fields for the time being, as all the rapeseed is starting to really come through round here.
even managed to get her to sit for a pic!
