crate habit!
Hi..my 7 week old pup is starting to drag her crate/pen inwards whilst she is alone in the house ( no more than 3 hours) im worried she is going to pull it over on top of her one day..is there anything we can do? put something nasty tasting on the bars perhaps? if so what is safe to?

Re: crate habit!
Do you mean pulling at the sides in on herself? We used cable ties to stop it folding down, and then they are easy to cut off and replace if needed.

Re: crate habit!
Ah, I know what you mean. I'm afraid I've never used on of them, or even seen one in person so I can't help, sorry. Hopefully someone will be along soon that can

Re: crate habit!
i'm not sure i have the gist of what is happening but you could put something it the corners of the crate to weigh it down so it couldn't be moved ???

Re: crate habit!
I don't use a playpen. I've only ever used a crate.
Really, I'd be reluctant to use something nasty tasting if she's spending quite a bit if time in there as it might put her off it & make her miserable. Is there any way you can secure it to something?

There is no easy way with an x-pen. I'm afraid you might just be better off with a crate when out.

Re: crate habit!
Well done, I think she will get on OK with the crate, it will soon become her own little bedroom if you like, her personal space to get away from it all.

Re: crate habit!
If you can, drape an old curtain or other heavy material over three sides of the crate - that will make it feel more secure for her.
