(not so) brave Bella
Well Bella really lived up to the tough aggressive staffy image yesterday...not!
I had her at the vet and on the way back decided to take the girls a walk around the dam. It was a lovely day and no other dogs or people around so I let them off lead to walk along beside the water. A huge swan decided it wasn't having any of it. I never realised how fast those things can swim. She waiting watching it until it was a few feet away and opened up it's wings and Bella took off running, got a safe distance away and stood barking at it. I don't think I have ever seen her or my daughter run so fast
The rest of the walk they were on the lead and we had a swan accompany us the whole way round
I hadn't realised how small Millie is until I saw this pic. She is really dinky for a lab x collie. Her brothers and sisters are all a lot bigger than her. I'm only 5'4" so not tall.

Hi Caroline,
That looks like a lovely place for a walk, beautiful. Those swans can be a bit fiesty at times especially if they have young around. I have seen them hiss at Rocky before and he just kind of backs off then wants them to play. So funny.

He's a lot braver than Bella, she's even scared of feathers
It is lovely there but there are spots around it where people have thrown cans, bottles and other rubbish into the water. It's a shame people have to ruin places this this

People that litter is one of my pet hates, and especially to such beautiful places!!
They can be rather tough, but I must say swans scare me with all there hissing lol!! Moo did the same to a bucket that was floating down the river the other day, never heard her bark so loud!!

Looks like a great place for a walk and always a bonus when you can get in off leash time.

I think its terrible that such beautiful places get trashed by idiots who cannot appreciate anything, so sad.

Lovely place to walk. Reminds me of our lake except we have geese. Still scare Ty after he was attacked last spring. Always p's me off the amount of litter laying around after a weekend.

Our Bella is a coward to, a bird flew out of the tree in our back garden, she legged it into the safety of the kitchen before she turned round and barked.

Re: (not so) brave Bella
Tilly chases the little birds like a bit of a bully , never caught one yet, may take her to the reservoir to let the Swans teach her a lesson, got no doubt at all who would run first

Since that happened she has started growling at any seagulls she sees from the window. Very brave when safely behind glass
Lynne I don't blame Ty, geese are scary. When my daughter was about 8 we went to a farm park where they had sledges going down a grass hill. She couldn't steer it and went straight towards a group of geese at the bottom. She jumped off before she reached them and I know I shouldn't but the sight of the geese chasing her back up the hill still makes me laugh
