More tracking pix!
We did some tracking in the woods around our house on Saturday!
Dino loves the treats he finds along the way
Hamlet got to have a track on the grass and the field so there were less sticks around for him to get stuck in.
Gummi got a long and quite.. ahem.. wet track. Wading through water and balancing on tree trunks! What a clever boy. Everything that looks like snow/ice is in fact water.
You can sort of see Gummi as a red blur behind the bushes.. I was just too slow trying to get a shot of him wading into the marshy area with water up to his knees! (and I actually mean the knees, so he was into his belly in the stuff!)
Mmm! Pork chop at the end!

Looks like that really gives him a good run and keeps his brain working too. Love those shots thanks for sharing

Not so much of a run, really. We want them to work slowly but steadily, so in Gummi's case it's usually a matter of making sure he slows DOWN.. LOL.. We did two nice tracks today, but he was starting to speed up a bit too much for my liking, I had a hard time keeping up with him at times. Haha!kathytake2 wrote:Looks like that really gives him a good run and keeps his brain working too.

Lovely pics and a great way to combine mental stimulation and physical exercise. We only do this indoors but might give the outside option a try.

Re: More tracking pix!
Thanks everyone!
You totally should The great thing about it is since you don't use the paths/roads but the actual woods in between you get so much more use out of an area than when "just" walking.jstaff wrote:Lovely pics and a great way to combine mental stimulation and physical exercise. Great activity and nice pics. What do you use to lay the scent trail?

Only the person walking (in other words the damage done to grasses and shrubs, disturbing the dirt and so on plus the dead skin cells, hairs and such falling off the person walking).Ty wrote:Great activity and nice pics. What do you use to lay the scent trail?
