Gummi's weekend in the woods (tracking course)
We were on a tracking course all weekend and Gummi was a star!
Camilla & Mia doing a demo
Adorable Mia! (Aussie)
Gummi on his first track - it was WAY to easy for him and he virtually ran right trough it.
Riesen - Ruth
Toller - Kira
It was a really beautiful day on Saturday!
Havanaise - Hamlet. He worked very well, but had some challenges with short legs and long furs.
Norwegian Lundehund - Holli
Sunday wasn't quite as lovely - rain, sleet and snow.. but high spirits!
Almost all of us - including the kelpie Freia.
Gummi's last track of the weekend that Caroline had laid (the first one that I hadn't laid for him), not his longest - 200 meters and two 90 degree angles + over a little stream.
He couldn't quite believe she'd really crossed it - but since it seemed like she had he went over.
And he found the end, too!

Well done Gummi, that looks like a lovely place, nice and peaceful too I bet.
When we take Rocky out on walks he thinks he is on the trail of something all the time, his nose dosn't stop working at all. I think they can still smell even when they are asleep

Lovely pics and looks like a great time. I think tracking is great for them as they get mental stimulation and exercise at the same time plus it gives them a job to do

Thanks everyone - he really enjoyed himself! Perhaps I should try to get him certified as a search and rescue dog... Hmm...
