What fruit?
Hi everyone..
I know there is a section on FOOD... and I did try and go through it.... but so many topics I can't get my head around it...
what sort of fruit can I give with peace of mind to my almost 12 weeks Polly?
Once my little daughter dropped a little piece of banana... and she ate it straight and wanted more!!!
Is that ok?
What about apples?
Any guideline?
Thanks everyone

Re: What fruit?
I think the odd bit as a treat or accident is okay but i wouldn't work it into her diet, it can give them upset tummies and runny tummy.

Re: What fruit?
Grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs. Apples, bananas and a few other fruits are fine as treats now and again but they can't have the apple seeds. Bella loves apples and bananas, Millie looks at you like you are trying to poison her

Hi I give Taz a little bite of apple and banana from mine every now and then - and she has had no effects - but I was told not to give them the apple pips

Re: What fruit?
Apples (minus the seeds and core) are fine and so are bannanas. Vegetables such as sweet potatos and cabbage are also okay as a treat. Do keep in mind the fiber content is higher than what they normally eat so they may a little more frequently

Tilly loves her nanas as we found when my grandson left a big lump on the floor for her , and she likes a bit of apple, if you check out the food section pay attention to the do's and don'ts
have a look here at the don'ts

Re: What fruit?
We have found that Dora loves apple and banana and carrot and tomato and cucumber.
In fact I think she is a veggie, lol.
Hmmm, didn't know about the core/seeds of the apples being toxic though. I have been giving here my apple cores. I'd better stop doing that.
She drools when you eat an apple...

Apple seeds contain a form of cyanide! It's in tiny quantities, and it would take an awful lot to poison your dog, but why take cahnces?

A small amount of garlic powder with food is ok, but don't give a whole garlic clove or bulb.
