Has your staffie recked your furniture
Just thought it'd be fun to see how much furniture our babys of eaten. In his very bored moments kenny as eaten as follows,
1 wooden floor
1 vinyle flooring ( torn)
3 settees
1 and a bit carpets
1 side board
many pillows
even more shoes
Quietly tried to eat the bed frame
1 door frame
3 shovels
garden ornaments
the cats toys
torn the wall paper
And all because the lazy people in my house forget to put kenny in his room b4 they go out

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
share your pain, heres my list...
Both sofa arms
the garden is devoid of shrubs and bushes except for a lonley looking rose bush.
the carpet at top of stairs has a massive hole in it
the pine foot board on bed went during teething...a beaver would be proud of his work on that one!
Variouse cables
shoes laces, he steals the shoes and just nibbles up the laces, great for when your late for work.
Remote controls.
the entire contents of my "Ex" flatmates makup bag....now that was a mess! I was annoyed with her on that one though leaving it for a pup to get to is asking for trouble lucky didnt need vet but funny colour poo next day.
the kitchen bin, or rather the contents of and spreading it around the house "welcome home"
Just a few, im sure there's more but I have managed to mentally block them to ensure my sanity lol

Not too much really:
- Garden/conservatory sofa
- Countless shoes
- My mums pricey vintage telephone
- A few horse brushes
- A spare matress that was left in a locked shed but someone left open

Thank god I've been lucky compared to some people ! All Bailey has done is chewed the corner of the wallpaper about the size of a 50p! And knawed at my newly plastered walls, only had them done about a month or 2! Little cherub that he is !

We have been luck only one dining room chair got a bit of a nibble although a few cups and glasses have gone flying
Our last staff decided she would try and chew through a concrete floor and headbutted a hole in our door as she got stuck in the kitchen one afternoon Lol

we share your pain as well:
All the foam matting covering the trampoline springs and poles - plus a hole in the netting
skirting board (fortunately only a small bit on one corner)
numerous soft toys - great way to teach the kids to put their stuff away
a pair of shoes
garden pond filter - whole thing found in bits around the yard including electrical bits
she thinks she's

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
My first staffy I had - Freddie
Pine Bed frame, various shoes, wooden chair leg, kitchen cupboard, corner TV/Video table, settee arm, various cushions, push bike peddles, 2x dog beds, communal garden bench, my Sisters dining table leg and my mothers hand bag
My current staffies - Jasper (18 months old)
Kitchen door, lobby door, lobby carpet, kitchen skirting boards (2x sides), car boot carpet, car boot sides, rear car light wires (exposed after he destroyed the sides LOL), garden bushes/shrubs, 1x dog bed, 3x dog bed cushions, bed side draw knobs & leg, various fleece blankets, stair carpet, numinous balls & chew toys. Then in the new house - Kitchen skirting boards x2, dining room skirting board, stair carpet (only the bottom stair thankfully) Dining room wall unit draw knobs, back door frame, dressing room wall & door (as he got locked in there by mistake), more fleece blankets and dog toys.
and - Theo (13 months old)
lobby wall (plaster), kitchen wall (plaster), coffee table leg. Then in the new house - Kitchen unit cupboard, kitchen wall (plaster), front room window sill, flower vase table, back door frame, dining room wall (plaster again!), lap top charging wire (whilst plugged in), 3D HDMI cable, TV power cable, mobile phone charger.
Even after all this damage I just love'em to bits

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
OMG, how lucky am I. The only thing Pixee chews is trees, yes! branches, any toys we give her. Ever cardboard boxes when they are empty, boy she loves chewing those to bits. Been eyeing the full ones and looking at me! Empty kitchen rolls and toilet rolls, ever thou only the other night I caught her carrying a 1/4 full kitchen roll ready to chew to bits . give her some old carpet, she will chew it to bits and lucky she has not started on any carpets in the house, phew! She will pick up smelly socks, and drop them round the house, never chews them. When we had her from the blue cross, she use to chew her bed to bits, since being with us, she only tried it once in the first few days, since then never. Oh I love you Staffys

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
I've been amazingly lucky with Ledger he will happily destuff toys from the charity shop (but leaves the big orange bear I got to stop me from walking into his crate door when its open) and rip tennis/footballs to shreds but he hasn't touched anything in the house even at my parents he had fun chewing in the woodpile one day but after the next few days of having sap taken out of his fur he hasn't even touched that

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
At home Buster is quite good. He had a bit of a thing for shoes when we first got him, but very rarely picks on up now, he has never chewed any as we always caught him in time. He did attack OH's pillow a few days after moving in - he didn't touch mine though! And I think that's about it in the house. Outside he has shredded the kids play tunnel, but that was my fault because I forgot to get it in and left him out there unsupervised for a bit. At work with OH he has destroyed a couple of chairs, a coat, sunglasses, ate OH's dinner.... he is just generally naughty for the OH. He is deffinatly a mummy's boy!

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
Revise my previous statement about how little damage precious little Rolo has done..... Put my glasses down on the coffee table as i legged it out to the garden, to rescue the rabbits that we're chasing next doors cat... came back in to find Rolo has destroyed them. (The insurance on them ran out last month... and i've now had to buy a new pair) Along with a tv control, 1 smelly candle and a tin that had digestives in.... I swear i thought i was only gone for 2-3 mins!!!!

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
I've picked up on this thread because Kuchar is REALLY trying my patience now. He's 10 months young.
He has chewed and destroyed almost 100% of what everyone has listed before on this thread. Some things are inevitable if you leave them around - shoes, socks, duvets on the beds if we forget to shut the doors - oh you get the picture.
But - the living room, hub of the home. He IS allowed on the furniture ie sofas and chairs. He often settles down and has cosy naps on said items, and cuddles up to the humans he shares his house with. Lovely, he is a member of the family.
Big BUT - I have recently had to dump the remains of a lovely reproduction antique sofa (Louis V style without the gilding in case you're interested) which I loved, but Kuchar continually, but continually, chucked the cushions off and bit through the supporting structures, so that it eventually collapsed.
He is NEVER or was ever left alone in the house when these destructive episodes occured, he can wreak more damae in 5 seconds than a nuclear bomb. In the occasions that he HAS been left alone - for no more than 5-10 minutes whilst popping to the local shops, he has spent waiting at the door.
Now I have new suite of furniture (well not new - I'm not going to spend squillions of £s on something that can be destroyed in seconds am I) but a nice comfortable suite that I'm happy with.
but he STILL chucks all the cushions off in the evenings when he is at his most rampageous (I don't just mean the little "occasional"cushions, but the large seat cushions), and will STILL go for one particular seat cushion which he got his teeth into on the second night we had the suite and is gradually destuffing it of its foam interior.
I tell him off countless times each evening but he thinks it's a game.
Once again, I have never experienced this before. Not this level of destruction. I hate to keep on moaning at him, but if I keep on and on telling him "No" and replacing the cushions, will the message eventually seep into his tiny brain?
Any advice is welcome (as always).

Several staffies, a collie, and about a dozen fosters later.... nothing.
Not a single thing ever damaged.
Several turds left in bizarre places mind you, but nothing eaten out of frustration or fun.

Re: Has your staffie recked your furniture
We've been quite lucky here as well. He's had the odd nibble on things, the rule of the thumb is that if it gets into his dog run its his. So kids balls are fine in the garden but if they go into the run they're gone. A bit of wallpaper, its on with a beef based paste. (Marriage quarter not our house!) A bit of the skirting board and various dog beds. He now has a foam flip put kids sofa and he loves it! We de-caged him in the summer as well.

Another lucky one! Biscuit only chews what's given to her, she's never been destructive at all bless her, but does steal "toys" out of the recycling box on a daily basis. She'll destroy a football in a second though, unlucky for the kids next door who keep kicking them into our garden

Ah yes I forgot to mention the router cable to my computer And after really rigorous training NOT to touch cables or wires, it's impossible to hide them all isn't it. Thank God it wasn't a current-carrying cable.

Hmmm Steffi joined this infamous club of vandals today.. I came home from work to find the lounge in the back sunroom with one arm completely missing and leather and stuffing all over the floor and a very guilty looking pup in the corner
