Why did Troy bolt 100 metres to...
...go eat some poop?
He has never eaten poop before. If his ball stops near poop he won't even get it or try paw it away from the poop!
Today I took him to a field, let him off and he went for this poop straight away. He must of got the scent immediately. Did this dog eat something delicious that wasn't fully digested? LOL, or did it have female scent on it or what?
Dirty dog won't be licking me for a while! Wiped his mouth out and clean it with water! Urgh!

Sorry but.........
I really wouldn't know why, some dogs just do, filthy things! So pleased I've never had one that eats or rolls in it

It's just strange as he has never done this before and would usually avoid poop. I will definitely correct him if I see him doing it again, he was too far away from me this time and I didn't realise what he was doing.

Lol mine would eat poo all day long if I let her, she's not fussy, her own, another dogs or even a cat poo will do!
She has started to grow out of it through constant correction but she still needs reminding sometimes!!
No idea why Troy would have suddenly run off to sample some, it must have smelt goooood!!! They do get fixated on things sometimes !

I've had that problem with my younger staffy. He no longer eats poop, unless it's horse poo.
The habit he has now is to roll in poo the smellier and runnier the better

Ah the poop!! Some eat it, others, like Charlie and Moo, roll in it. God knows what it is about poop that they love. Disgusting animals!!

Hi,
yeah Stella doesn't eat dog poo but tries to grab sheep, horse, rabbit... She loves rolling in seagulls' and foxes... She really physically licked and ate a wee bit of something just once, not sure who was the producer of that one though.
I always stop her doing it but she can be SO fast...sniffing innocently and then suddenly she is on her back having an indulgent massage or trying to pick something up.
My old dog used to eat human poo in forests (don't know where it came from ) but she stopped when she got older.
Aren't the doggies sweet

Why did he do it? Who knows! Dempsey tip toes away from dog poo, but will try to make a meal of virtually any other poo - cat, cow, badger....well, I'm sure you get the picture. If he can't eat it he rolls in it.

Skye's not too bad when it comes to poo, she'll sniff it like she's going to eat it but then backs off. Maybe that's because I go all frantic and start the "Don't you dare!" treatment! One thing though, duck dumps! She LOVES them no telling her not to eat that stuff! It's like an all you can eat buffet for her down at the canal

Suki thinks it's perfume but at least she has mostly stopped eating it.
