Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
You can not rehome a dog so the other owner can deal with the problem, give him to a rescue centre, rather than get a profit for him.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
Please please please just go to a rescue , if you can get one to take him then at least he is not going to be messed around like he has been for the last few weeks. Please don't go looking for a substitute as it doesn't seem like you are ready to be an owner and have your hands full with your son. If you truly think something of your dog then selling him is not the answer , this will just pass him on to someone else whou could have a problem or worse. The rescue will judge him and make sure he ends up in the right environment with the right people and sorry if this means you don't get any money.

He needs to be trained! Why would you want money for him? They have feelings too! Do the right thing.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
No wonder its got issues, noone will give it a chance.
Please don't get another dog, they are not just "things" they are living creatures with feelings. If your son hit you would you get rid of him for a better model?

A dog is for life not to be dumped the first time there is a problem.
Deal with the problem it's not impossible.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
Yes contact a sbt rescue even though they are full,it's more important to find a good home rather than get a price for the dog.Have you not got family or friends who could keep the dog untill a suitable home is found?there is most probably a reason if he/she snapped ie..does it get enough exercise?which if not leads to frustration.Has it got space?etc..anyway I hope you find a good home for him/her,but think it through before you make a snap judgement.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
The dog is probably feeling very unsettled and anxious. I suggest you give him to a rescue centre-with a donation-as rescues at the moment are very overstretched and every little helps.
Or you could make an effort and attempt to train him. A member on here took on a very nervous, un-socialized dog and is working wonders with him with patience and steady training.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
4 owners in a matter of weeks is a disgrace, the poor thing won't know weather he's coming or going. This is why so many staffs end up in the shelters and in the news for the wrong reasons when all they want is a loving stable home.No doubt he will just become another statistic of our great society.

Hopefully its just one of them wind ups that comes along once in a while , doesn't seem to want to come back and defend himself, if not then I really hope the poor little dog gets the home he needs

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
I thought things were going OK with the training?? Maybe needs some more time putting into this first before you make any drastic moves.
Does he get plenty of exercise? What food is he on?

How old is this poor dog that's getting passed around like a bad penny? 4 owners? That's disgusting.

Oh that's horrible! I have a little lad, and yes his safety is my upmost importance, but seriously? He's probably nervous as hell from being passed from pillar to post! What happend to giving him a chance? Working on a reward system and keeping them seperated for a while! Jesus.

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
i've been watching this topic and not once have you said why he went for your son, was there a reason ie he was jumping/climbing on the dog or trying to take something off him like food or a toy or approaching the dog whilst eating? but in an earlier thread you said he was fine with the previous owners kids! do you regularly exercise him for more than 30 mins at a time at least 2-3 times a day? a bored dog can become an aggressive dog and a possessive dog can as well, theses with constant training can be avoided

And as for "selling" him! How would you feel if you passed him on to someone else and he actually hurt a child? Put him in a rescue home, PLEASE!

The sad thing is I don't think this is a wind up, I see adverts like this everyday. People seem to lose all common sense when confronted by a dog.

The Op hasn't posted again, either embarrassed/ashamed, or this is a wind up. I really hope it's the latter.

probably the 1st, won't want to listen to advice about a rescue center and just wants cash for the dog rather than a good home

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
Josie69, please let us know what part of the country your in, I think a few of us know of rescues that may help. Just remember he's not just an animal, he's a dog with feelings, yes they have emotions 2, they feel love, fear, stress, happyness, lonelyness and heartbreak. Please dont give up on him. If you really must give him away, the least you can do is give him a chance at a rescue. Let him live with some1 who can fufill his needs, because you know wha, a happy staffy is the best addition to a family any1 can have.
Im sorry he went for your son, and of course, he comes 1st. You can ring a behaviuorist and they'd offer you good advice over the phone. Please let us know

Re: is the a section to sell my staffy on this forum??
Hi Kelly,
Whether the member has a facebook page or not is of no importance to us.
The member has been given the relevant links and information needed to make the responsible steps for re-homing the poor dog in the correct manner and I hope they take heed of all the advise given.
As they have not responded I think it is only fair to lock this topic now.
