Saxon's Father
Edited to add a couple of current pictures of Saxon!
For those of you who don't know, I got Saxon when he was 5 months old from a family that got him from a breeder here in Maine. The breeder didn't give them Saxon's papers or even his shot records. He only gave them a little piece of paper with a picture of a dog that he claimed was the litter's stud. I planned to look him up when I got home, unfortunately, I lost the paper and couldn't remember his name. The other day I was doing some spring cleaning and found the picture! Next to the picture it said "Roilas."
I googled "Roilas Staffordshire" and found his owner. I emailed the owner and he said that Saxon was definitely from a litter that Roilas fathered. Roilas' owner said that the owner of Saxon's mother brought her down from Maine for the breeding. He couldn't remember her name, all he remembered was her owner's name was Bill. Bill Sent him photos of the puppies when they were born, but never paid him for the stud service.
Roilas' owner said that Roilas' father is "CH Yankeestaff Preachin' The Blues" and his mother is "Yankeestaff Lady Margaret." I have emailed Yankeestaff for more information as their website doesn't have any pedigree information on it. I'll post more when/if I hear back from them. Here's what I have so far, though.
Here are a few pictures of Roilas' father CH Yankeestaff Preachin' The Blues:
Here are a couple of Roilas' mother Yankeestaff Lady Margaret:
Here's an article about Margaret: http://www.world-net.net/home/malec/hero.htm Apparently she fought off a stray dog to save someone!
Here is Saxon's father, Roilas:
Here's Roilas with Saxon's mother (whose name I don't know):
Here's Saxon with his littermates:
Here's Saxon as a tiny little puppy:
I wish I knew him then! He's such a little sausage! He's super handsome now, though, and I'm so happy to have him in my life! Here are a couple of current photos for fun:
I was very excited to get this information and share it with all of you! I will post more as soon as I hear anything back from Yankeestaff.

Re: Saxon's Father
What gorgeous photos!
If you hear back from Nancy Malec at Yankeestaff, ask her if she remembers Yankeestaff Missionary (Ch. Yankeestaff Bolivar x Ch. Ainsair Fancy Lass) - my old boy Bandit. You might need to contact her a few times - she always used to be quite bad at answering letters/emails!

Re: Saxon's Father
Thanks for the tip, Caryll! How neat that Saxon and Bandit might be related! He was absolutely gorgeous!

Re: Saxon's Father
Nancy always bred quite 'terrier type' dogs - looks like she still does. I think she got quite involved in blues recently.

Re: Saxon's Father
How neat that you have found so much information! Looks like perhaps another relation! (Pretty sure Tyson and Monte are related). Wonder how many other dogs we have on here that are related but live in different parts of the world.

Re: Saxon's Father
I haven't heard back from Yankeestaff yet, but someone on an other forum did find Roilas' parent's pedigrees online!! I've been looking throught them and I can trace both parents back to Gentleman Jim! I'm still exploring the pedigrees and it's so interesting!

Re: Saxon's Father
How cool that you found this out! Saxon looks just like his mum- do you think you'll ever go to visit his dad or is it too far away?

Re: Saxon's Father
Sorry, just seeing this now! I don't know if we'd ever go down there just to visit, but maybe if we were driving south for an other reason we would stop and see him on the way there!shakespearesdog wrote:How cool that you found this out!
