His brother just went in to get his other knee replaced he also got a heart problem and he getting Morphine

Why's he getting morphine?

because he just had the same op as my dad a knee replacement

Then it'll be Codeine, surely? Morphine is usually only given to terminally ill cancer patients.

he got a needle in his leg that feed him slowly with it. my siter OH is on morphine with his back.. my dad is just on mild pain relief, he said if his other leg pack up on him hes going in a wheel chair hee not having the same op.

Morphine is highly addictive, that's why they normally only use it for the terminally ill.

yea they only give it to people who is in really in pain having your knee took out and replace your going be in a hell a lot of pain.

Wow, didn't realize they gave morphine for knee replacements. Known a few with really bad backs on it though. Kinda takes them out of it for quite a while.

this not a small op it a huge one & very painful if you dont have the right pain relief

I know a woman that just had a knee replacement (she'll be having the second one done in 6 months) and she was given codeine. It killed the pain fine.

I wouldn't want Morphine - it'd make me feel like I was on the way out.

most people who as huge amount of pain have morphine these days

I got morphine after an operation for a twisted testicle.
I needed it too.

my mum had morphine she they had to put a plate to fix her broken arm

yes when i crushed my hand and had my fingers shattered i was on morphine then weaned on to codiene .
morphine wiped me out

Lol the hospitals here pump you with morphine if you go in with a paper cut

after seeing how much my dad in in pain i tell them to give me enough so i'm close to overdosing

Morphine is probably the only drug the doctors haven't tried with me .. and after 4 ops I know how good it was at eliminating pain ...

and I've had 7 years of chronic pain... not keen on the addiction of the other prescribed opiates, they don't work anyway (for me).
