Re: another attack
it wasn't even a real staffy
people need to stop buying these pitbull type dogs becasue they are giving staffy a bad name
today following reports that a large dog - believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier cross breed
people need to stop buying these pitbull type dogs becasue they are giving staffy a bad name
Re: another attack
the only answer to this miss before it get out of hand is round up kids who leave school without finding work and a 5/6 years of national service there no other way we have try to talk but it's fail big time....... time to get tough or watch the problem get worse..
Re: another attack
A Staffordshire bull terrier was shot dead by police today after biting a 12-year-old girl and being chased into a play park being used by children.
The report dosn't say who or what was chasing the dog at the time it went into the childrens play park.
Why do they never get the full story/facts straight before going to press.

Re: another attack
i'm not really bothered about the report what worrying me is another kid was biten and nothing is getting done to fix the problem soon and later there going be another public out cry to ban more dogs.....etc. pitbulls back in 1990
it's time to get tougher on these low lifes that go around acting like the king of the council estate talking to them has fail it's time to go back in time and do what worked national service..... yes they make some hard gangstars but they will learn repect like the old time gangstar did have alot more repect back in the day today gangstar will nick off friend and family... everything is just wrong in our society and noone is doing anything about it.

'Believed to be a staffordshire bull terrier cross.'
No picture no proof. Talking of pictures whoever took that picture of the growling/yawning red staffy must be raking it in, they always use that when printing misconcieved and misinformed stories about dog attacks. Bit like someone printing a picture of Cujo when a week ago a german shepard jumped into someones garden and grabbed a young girl by the face while she was on a trampoline. Don't see people calling for GSDs to be banned.
These reporters are a disgrace to journalism.

Re: another attack
From what I understand from our local news is that the poor animal was tasered by the police 3 times. Chasing any dog, shouting at it and tasering it 3 times could only make matters much worse, he was no doubt very scared and agitated. Whilst I dont condone it biting anyone, I was told that the little girl was shown on tv and she said that she didn't feel it was bad enough for the dog to be killed. The press say that "A chunk was taken out of the mans leg, but it wasn't life changing or life threatening". I have serious doubts about the media once they jump on a bandwagon it becomes almost persecution.

Re: another attack
it not about the report, the point is people just cant train there dogs right and young girls are having their ear rip off and getting bite the public are only take so much before the public out cry like there was in the 1990 for the pitbull to be banned.....
Re: another attack
Thats exactly why BSL has failed, ban one dog breed the scum move onto the next best thing. They really really need to to do something about the human problem. that guy should be charged and sentanced as if HE had attacked the people.

I seen this on the news & the whole thing was taken to far apperntly & the owners were devostated & had to explain to her children why the dog had died! It was only a minor bite it didnt even break her skin, as she tryed to put the dog back into its home.. The police messed right up!

Press love to make news and things must become spectacular to sell copies... this is the problem. Easy to touch "Psychotic fear buttons" in readers.....
bad information and reports are creating a state of chaos in the community who now perceives any bull-like dog as a menace.
The other day at the park I had my little Polly (11 weeks) playing with others and a mum grabbed her children as soon as she saw Polly's breed/Jaw... and I thought "WTF... she's a pup"... she was wiping the floor with her tail so excited to get a cuddle.... Either people love them or hate them...
Perception is the thing to change....
As many pointed out, many staffies are taken by baby gangsters or wannabe... and become sociopaths....
Another example at the park was a girl with an adult Staffy.... very beautiful but... the way he was "dressed" was just meant to scare off people.
And first thing she said to me was not to get close with my pup because " HE WOULD TEAR HER APART".... you know what I mean? It;s the way many owners approach their own dog which is horribly wrong!
I am very not confident in solving the matter

Re: another attack
You are right, Marco...it's polarizing to have one of these dogs...a lot of people love them or hate them...I had no idea when we chose this breed.
But I have to say that most of the feedback I've gotten is good (although perhaps this is a biased sample--people who are interested in talking about your new dog are dog people anyway).
I wonder what other Staffy owners here in the US think?

Re: another attack
Very few people have a negative reaction to Saxon. A few people have said that they would like a Stafford in the future after meeting him.
