Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
First topic message reminder :
As per poll.
Troy sleeps in a crate in my room, but is becoming a pain as I never get any sleep these days.
GF doesn't think he should be in the room. I wouldn't mind, except for him moaning and getting me up all of the time.

Good point Dave! If I don't get there first I find Kuchar smack in the middle of the bed and I have to physically manhandle him by grabbing his legs and rolling him over

I feel terrible as Jenny let the dogs out at 10.30 and went to bed , I thought she had let them both back in and they were sleeping with mummy .................... no way , went down and they were both trotting in as soon as I opened the door , into the office and sitting behind each other patiently waiting for a nice treat as they could sense my guilt and monopolise on it , then off quietly onto our bed where they are currently starfished to keep me out

Oh, dear little dogs - so good to not make a fuss when they were shut out in the garden!
And the starfish attitudes are their revenge - nothing for it but to grab their legs and roll them over and over until you have enough space to park your body for your night's rest! (They'll forgive you

I'd happily let Hugo sleep in our bed but the other half wasn't having any of it, so he's usually snuggled up on his bed outside the bedroom door ready for morning cuddles, best start to any day!!

Re: Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
Lady has her bed in my room ..
more often than not she'll prefer to sleep on my bed .. ..
ok by me .. .. as a kid .. our family dachshund did the same
but .. now .. for some reason ..
she's started to burrow under the covers on occassion ..
ain't like it's cold in the room ..
once under .. she stays for 15 minutes
then figures she can't breathe .. or it's too hot .. or something
then climbs out .. .. the 10 minutes later .. she dives back under ..
then out again ..
maybe i should make her a covered 'den' .. like a mini-tent
that she could sleep in :-)

Re: Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
mmmmmmmm .. sounds familiar ..Lady can't make her mind up
have tried to be accommodating ..
like move the cover so her nose gets fresh air ..
don't seem to satisfy though ..
or direct her so she just has a thinner covering ..
but no .. she won't accept that either ..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i think as an x-mas prezee for her ..
i'll build her a comfy den ..
Re: Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
i would let them sleep on my bead however their fav bed to sleep in through the day while we are all at work is in the dirt in our backyard, so they have their own beds in my room!
Nico sleeps in his bed which is on the floor at the bottom of our bed. Does a wee inspection to make sure we are all tucked up before he settles down to sleep.
Re: Do you let you dog sleep in your room?
If oh is away then if I say it's bedtime he toddles upstairs and lies on my side of the bed which is great in winter as it warns up the bed but it's a battle moving him over so I have some space. Once fidgeting licking toe chewing and he has settled down he will sleep or snore but I always get the bum end. If he wakes up he will sneak under the duvet pushing me out of the way but wanting to lie next to me. About 6 he wakes up for snuggles. Don't tell oh about any of this as he thinks Oz sleeps in his bed in the kitchen which he does when oh is at home. Oz is a great hot water bottle and good company from scary monsters in the night
Coco occasionally sleeps on our bed, if hubby is out or I am out till late for work she tends to sleep with us, otherwise she sleeps in her own bed downstairs.
