Re: halti
I used a Gentle Leader on Troy which he tried to get off his face also.
You can try positive association with it. Gentle say good boy / girl while putting it on and feed treats etc. Have it on around the house when playing or giving treats.
Other than that, they'll soon get used to it and associate it with going for a walk.
I stopped using mine though, didn't like it.

Re: halti
Yeah I appreciate that. Sometimes I wish I still had it when he goes nuts
They do work though, I'm sure your dog will get used to it. I'm looking at other devices also.
Good luck with it.

I think its just a case of peseverance really. We had Rocky in a cannicollar, same kind of thing as a halti, he didnt like it a first but we just kept going with it.

Re: halti
if he is pulling it off then it is too big for him so then it definatly won't be comfortable, best thing to do, is chuck it on and feed them, get them real excited about food etc, play with their favorite toys, go through a few trick with treats, take it off, put it on and repeat and pretty soon their look forward to having it on.

Gee,
Have you come up with any other device? I too don't like the halti and neither does maisy, I have the easy walk harness for my 2 which works really well - my 8 year old can walk them in it - but i'm not sure on the fit as it fits right under the arm pits and looks uncomfortable.

Hi,
I haven't no, but was considering one of these:

More or less the same thing so Troy will probably still look depressed with it on, but it looks a lot more secure than the gentle leader.
How does the harness work? Does it just mask them pulling or actually stop them from pulling?
Post a review here for others if you don't mind?
