I've never bruised unless they miss they vain. I had one poor girl where I was her first patient. I tried to be nice but after 5 tries I was like can I just do that for myself.

I did it! This morning at the local hospital I let the vampires suck my blood! They told me to go home & rest so I came to work!

I'd have gone home, but it's the end of the financial year & I'm really busy (that's why I'm posting here! ).

I've given over 100 times and only had that one bad experience. The girl was very young and obviously nervous. Drawing someone's blood can be a bit intimidating and the vein can roll or be had to spot.

Guh. U never bruise on my left arm but i bruise my right all the time. I'm right handed but use my left for a lot of things too. I always get hit on my left arm though, and it sucks cause i never get a nice bruise. I got punched in the eye with a sofa yesterday on the face...not even a red mark!!

Well done to all that donate. I have travelled home to Africa regularly over the last years , so they don't want my blood for now. Your veins may be larger on the dominant side, however you will only bruise badly if the vein is double pierced by the needle. When done by an experienced and competent technician, you should only feel a small scratch. The coffee and biscuits afterwards were always nice.
