Dear Sweet Jadey 15/06/97- 03/12/2010
We lost our Dear Sweet Lady Jade on December 3rd 2010 after a 6 month struggle with Scapula Cancer.
When she chose us ( the only one of litter that ran to us)we were told she was a staffy but later found out due to her growth that she was a Staffy x Bully we loved her soo much so we didnt care.
She was a people dog and hated being left out side and slept with a pillow arug and her baby under her arm. She had various health issues but never ley us know how much pain she was in. She had a total of 3 knee recons, had her nose nearly taken off by a vicious neighbours dog and had 43 stitches to her nose, and was allegic to grass so we put down artifical grass for her.
We found a hard lump on her shoulder in 2010 and firstly the vet thought she may have pulled a muscle but after having a sample screened it came back positive to scapula cancer and this stage she was 13 years old and had a bit of arthritis in her back legs. Months went by and this lump just grew and it was a huge hump but she was still happy wagging her tail and eating, we were having Xrays approx every two weeks as I was not going to let her suffer if she had it in her chest and lungs.
Well it had to happen i tried to feed her her tea at night and she didnt want it, this is when we decided poor girl had fought and it was time to let her go.
She started breathing fast and puffing and wouldnt get up over night and after arranging for the vet to come to our home to end her pain at 11:15 am she decided that once all my kids and their partners and her nanna had given her a love and kiss that she would leave us. At 11:am she stood up wagged her tail at me and dropped into my husbands arms and took her last two breathes. The vet turned up half an hour later but we had spent that time kissing and stroking her. he took her with her favourite rug wrapped around her and we had her cremated. She now sits in our lounge room next to her picture, never to be forgotten
My husband had to take anti depressants and go to theraphy as it hit us extremely hard and we swore to never have a dog again.
Well just over a year later we got our Bella Baby and as the same as Jade, bella came out of the litter and chose us
We love Bella and she has helped heal our Pain but there will only ever be one Jade and she will hold a special place in our Hearts .. Sweet Sweet Lady xxxx

what a beautiful story...and what a lucky girl that Jade had such a great life with you... you should be proud of that....
Just think the darling Jade is running free at Rainbow Bridge...
>< to you and your hubby.. we have all been there, and it is by far one of the most heart wrenching things I have ever lived through too!

Oh Mandy, reading Jade's story broke my heart
Your poor darling girl, she must have had a great 13 years with you despite the health issues you experienced along the way.
RIP sweet baby Jade. Run free till you meet your mum & dad again.
Big hugs to you both ><

Thanks Everyone for your kind comments and your kind posts regarding our Sweet old Lady Jade.
Jade was like our child and everyone was amazed that she really thought she was human, we got her at 5 weeks of age.
Her loss is still affecting us to the point of Tears talking about her and we cant watch her videos yet.
We still say goodnight and kiss her urn each night
I am hoping that yes we will meet her and our other girls Sharma (15 years old) and Sabre (12 years old ) one day

Thankyou Kathy.
We are so grateful for our new little girl as she has helped and she has a few of Jadeys characteristics that we have a laugh about
