Tyre as toys!
I have seen on a few places that people use tyres as toys and they are obviously very sturdy and fairly wreck proof. I wanted to get Tia a tyre but i dont have a huge garden so I bought this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tyre-120-x-50-x9-petrol-Quad-Atv-midi-bike-/230761565733?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item35ba760e25
Tia loves it and the tyre its self is far smaller than a full size one, its because its basically a smalller motorbike tyre.
When we got Tia, she came with a "toy tyre" that didnt last but cost the same as this one lol.
just if anybodys interested

Re: Tyre as toys!
we got Jethro a wheel barrow tyre he had it for years...Winston loved it too, but unfortunately he recently dropped it in the deep end of the dam and it sunk out of view......another dog toy lying in the bottom of the dam!

Vanessa, I think that dam should be dredged, who knows what on earth is down there.

Just be careful, some, not all tyres have wire in them as part of the inner wall. Wouldn't personally use one, though i know of a few who do with various dogs.

good point about the wire ! My 2 only ever pushed it around and ran around with it over their heads I certainly would never let my dog lie around chewing and chewing on it!

Re: Tyre as toys!
Thinking about getting Zeus one of these tyres.. I have a question though, are they non-toxic? I've had a look at the Ancol Dog Tyres and they're non toxic, so even if he does get through it and eats some of it, nothing should happen to him. Just wanted to know if normal car/bike/quad tyres are the same?

Re: Tyre as toys!
I'm sure car tyres etc aren't good as they have steel braids through them which can become exposed! IIRC wheelbarrow tyres don't have the steel through them but unsure!

Re: Tyre as toys!
So i've decided to give it a miss with getting an actual tyre for zeus to play with. Instead, i went for this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/DOG-CHEW-TOY-Favorite-Survivor/dp/B004X75C4A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1346681962&sr=8-3
Managed to get it for a tenner off eBay so will keep you all informed on how it went!
