Feeding times Vs Leaving the bowl of food outside

Dogs thrive on a routine IMHO. That being said if the amount of food is monitored and controlled I don't see any harm. If the amount of food consumed isn't controlled it can lead to the dog being overweight and it;s hard to get them to drop it and has health risks associated.

We always give Rocky an amount of food at about the same time of day which he always eats straight away. I wouldn't leave the bowl down for more than 10 mins. He wouldn't allow himself to starve.

I wouldn't leave food down for mine, she gets hers at near enough set times morning and night as this dictates when she is exersized and when she needs relieve herself!!

I wouldn't just leave food down - you just don't know when the right time is to take them out. If they eat too close to exercise they can develop bloat - which can be fatal.
