one week since she's home!
Hi everyone...
what an intense week has just passed!
I can't believe it is only one! It feels ages.
My Polly settled well at home... and we love her to bits.
We can't even think of the house without her.... nor we remember how it was before this little bundle of fur entered our place.
What a love!
She is now 8 weeks and had her 1st vaccination last week.. second and last vaccination next week and few days after she'll be ready to come out with us!
We have been taking her to the local coffee shop, but always on our lap. with such gorgeous days I did not feel like forbidding her the spring time... even if in limited conditions.
She loved it... and loved being cuddled by every one around us.
I reckon it is a good think to get her used to see people and sounds... Hopefully after vaccinations are effective she can start socializing. Sometimes I am worried she is missing precious time and will be hard after 3 weeks inside.. but hey... it is for her health!
I started training her with the clicker and after a good week I can say that she definitely understands her name, almost always comes when I call her and she is now learning to sit!!! she is not yet fully obedient but.... the patience will pay off...
I only have a trouble to make her understand where to poo and pee... she never does it in her crate (where she sleeps soundly after the 1st adaptation night)... but we will get there....
Mouthing is OK... she is biting but we are all following the rules I learned through the forum and (even though my hands are a bit of a mess for sudden unexpected nips) we never leave her get away with it... we tell her NO, firmly, and try to distract her with some toy!
We will win this battle too... I hope! Note: she never ever attempted so far to bite my 3 year old daughter! she's very gentle with her..
Ok... That's it for the update... hope you like her pic.
PS. Her parents are both staffies but her face reminds me of some other dog too.... what do you think?

Well.. I said I have not trained her 1000% yet.... but on the way.... after all it is still 1 week she is here.
The only "problem" is the snapping and biting.... for which I am not worried after reading other posts.... hopefully telling her off, giving her a toy and stopping the playing will eventually succeed..
Thx

She has an adorable face. Much like my boy's at that age. You are progressing very well I would say.

She's gorgeous!! Sounds like your doing well with her!
With Mia she very quickly stopped going to loo in her crate, and we trained her to go on newspaper right by the back door (the door which she is now let out of whenever she needs to go). Whenever she goes in the house just pick her up and place her where she should have gone, she'll get it eventually!
They always have accidents tho when they'r this young!
