dogs sniffing out illness.

My 15yr old bitch Tasha has kidney problems but it is controlled by diet and has been for quite a while, she just had all her tests and was examined at the vet two weeks ago and was fine. I've noticed that dogs in the park and my two younger dogs are all very interested in sniffing her, much more than you'd expect. She still goes with her dog walker a couple of days a week and the walker has asked me if i noticed the sniffing. All the dogs seem to find Tasha very sniffable. Anyone had older or ill dogs who became more attractive for a good sniff by other dogs ?. It makes me think of dogs trained to find cancer etc or maybe they smell her kidney failure?.

I think any dog that is ill smells different & so the other dogs will know there's something not right.

true and i suppose kidneys /urine etc are going to change her smell

I guess a problem with kidneys would cause the urine to smell differently and so therfore attractive to other dogs.
