She is HOME...
She is home.. not decided on the name yet... my daughter wants Molly.... I refuse... We agreed on Purple... but again she got back to Molly... now I proposed Polly!!
But who cares? She is so cute..... sleeping a lot now.. I guess also she is stressed!
My heart is full of love right now.... how wonderful

Re: She is HOME...
Guys she is sleeping a lot... normal? she must be very stressed because of the "detachment" from her Mum and Dad....
I tried to keep her quiet and played a bit when was awake but she looks at me a but sad.... and after few sec she sleeps again...
I made her eat a bit... but she would not go the bowl... I made her smell it first and then as she was about to eat I moved it a bit further and she went eating inthe right spot... praises all over of course! ,... she is only 7 weeks anyway (was told at the beginning she was ...
should I keep following what she does? if she wants to sleep she can sleep with no break??
Also, even though she has water... she s not been drinking much in the last 2 hrs... was sleeping like a stone!!
... advice?

Re: She is HOME...
Been so long since I had a pup but I would let her sleep and let her settle, if she has an accident it can be expected.
New home and a long day, too much for a baby. Xx

Re: She is HOME...
bless she looks like a sleeping baby! when i first got willow (who is a very sensitive soul) she slept alot (although she was already 7 months old) the vet said it was because it was all too much for her brain to cope with but just keep an eye on her as you are doing!

Re: She is HOME...
Thanks guys...
After sleeping all afternoon she woke up at night time... ahaahhah.. as expected!! whining from the crate... I got up every 2 hrs... made her cry in between trips to the crate... she slept on and off obviously. Poor thing ... must be hard without her mum for the 1st time...
She is not drinking much water though... I am a bit worried...
She ate... and when I gave her a mini bowl of OAT Milk she drank it like it was nectar from heaven.. is that normal?? Is it because the Oat milk is a bit sweet?
How should I evaluate her drinking and promote the water intake? Do I just leave her do what she feels like?
Thanks...

Re: She is HOME...
Re whining at night, dont get up to see her or you will be doing it forever.
With Billy we split the cage in two parts, one for his bed and one with newspapers to do his buisiness. he whinned for a couple of nights then stopped. Do you have something from the breeder with the mothers smell on it, that should go in the crate if not then something that you or your family have worn so she can smell it and feel safe and snug.
I would worry too much about drinking water at the moment she is probally very scared just make sure she knows where the bowl is, and the sleeping they are like new born babies and will sleep a lot.
Congrats on your first night, can we see some more pics

Re: She is HOME...
Aww they are just like babies really. She's prolly a bit scared, all you can do is shower her with love, lots of cuddles and soothing strokes, take her to the water bowl a few times and don't stress yourself or she will pick up in it.
7 weeks is tiny, so it's all gonna be a bit like 'wtf' to her. Did the breeder give u a blanket with the scent of mum and littermates on it ?
Other than that give it a few days, she will be fine. Mine slept a heck of a lot ! And just like a baby u can't help but stare at them !
Did u decide on a name ?
Also, wonder if u can add water to the oat milk to kind of wean her off it ina few days time ofc..... Maby an idea to ask it vet that one when u book her infir her jabs x

Re: She is HOME...
Aw what a gorgeous little pupalup.
If you're after a name i'll suggest some but I don't know if you'll like my taste:
Honey
Lola
Phoenix
Trixie
Queenie
Penny
Zoe
Amber
Dallas
Muffin
Sausage
Missy
Roxy
Betty
Paige
Blondie
Ginger
Scarlett
Jess
Golde
Zena
Rosa
I see you live in London, what part out of interest? By the way is regards to her colour she is red with a black mask. Oh she is gorgeous, looks just like the dog I'd like to get as a companion for mine.
I really don't like the name Molly, reminds me of snooty spaniel owners.my daughter wants Molly.... I refuse

Re: She is HOME...
Red with black mask... thanks I will remember that!
the name gotta be something similar to Molly because my daughter won't compromise much.
I hate Molly too.... I opted for Polly! not too cheesy!
We live in West Hampstead area.
PS. I am trying to get her immediately some training regime, such as COME to begin with. then I will go to the SIT command..
Do you reckon 5/6min of training 2ice per day is too much for a 7wk old puppy?
Thanks for support!!
This is her this morning after Breakky!

Beautiful puppy. She is very young and being taken from her parents is very traumatic. Is somebody at home with her all the time ? If she is peeing regularly she won't be dehydrated. Keep us updated and more foots please.

Re: She is HOME...
It's normal for a pup to sleep alot and starting with training is a good idea. Try to end on a positive note and you might also want to start getting her used to a lead
