Need some info about training your dog to walk off lead.
i have a few questions to ask about this topic,
Do they have to be a certain age to train them this?
and
Has anyone got a decent video or link to help me train Taz to walk off lead?
Btw Taz is 2yrs old.

Not a certain age, the younger the better though i guess. Though yes you can still train an older dog

This depends on how good his recall is, you may need to work on this first using a long training lead.
I would say that the younger the better that would go for any training really.

I would keep him on a long lead and only let him off once his recall is good and than only until he is in an enclosed area the first few times.

I just let Romeo off and kept calling him back to me. He naturally wanted to follow me as he's quite clingy. If you want him to walk to heel it would be a good idea to get a really short lead so he can't walk ahead and catch his attention with a treat. If he tries to walk ahead poke him in the bum and make eye contact when he turns around, you should be able to hold his attention for a few seconds.

If i were you i wouldnt get another dog until Taz is trained properly, especially (sp?) a puppy Also you will have to take into account that its sometimes not safe to keep 2 male dogs. So a female would be better, get her dressed if your not wanting puppies or if Taz has not been castrated

Re: Need some info about training your dog to walk off lead.
It may take a bit of time but stick with it.
I rescued Ledger last July (he is nearly 3 now) and have taken him to obedience classes working on him making eye contact with me and to keep checking for me. He walks nicely and is now mostly on a flexi lead with which I have been working further on "watching" when he looks at me and comes back to heel or sit infront of me when he does this he gets his treat.
This is generally good, not 100% but I am testing a bit of off lead only for very short times and when I can see no other dogs in the park and careful not to always put him back on when he hasn't listened so that he doesn't see the lead as a punishment I find throwing a treat for him to chase then calling him back to another works well (he isn't very toy orientated)
Oh and don't forget to work on things like "leave" and "enough" Ledger has a bad habit of hunting out Haribo (some kids keep dropping tangfastics in the park) and he spotted the Rats in the park tonight he was on lead and didn't try to chase when I said but at this point of our training I wouldn't have been confident if he was off lead.

Taz chases everything he sees he tried chasing a magpie but it started to fly and he was running while looking up at the magpie and then he ran into a tree, but i have had to run around looking for him a few times when he has managed to pull his lead out of my hand so he could chase something, but in the last 2 month or so he has calmed down with trying to chase things when he on lead hes more aware of dogs he does not know
