Update on upgrading to a 3 pack Empty Update on upgrading to a 3 pack

Ok, so I owe you all an update on Piggy Sue and the boys. Things are going quite well! Peggy-Piggy is coming along slowly. She is so timid but every day slightly more willing to say howdy. She spends lots of time outside when she can and seems most comfortable there (no surprise as her first 3 years she spent most of the time outside). She is very sensitive and super lazy from what we know, but I can see hints of her more playful and loving side coming out. She just needs time. House training is going slow, but I have every confidence it will get there. The boys are so good with her and patient. Monte sometimes gets impatient to play (she isn't ready yet), but quickly backs off when he can tell she is frightened. Frosty is a sweetheart to her and she looooooves him. My wife is really hoping that she opens up and wants to cuddle at some point. So far, she is happiest left well alone with exception to the kids beginning with my youngest.

The only weird behavior so far has been from Monte. Since Peggy showed up, he doesn't want to go for walks/runs which usually were his great joy. Maybe it is because she is still at home and not with us (she is a long way from being able to go for walks - terrrified still and we need to get her used to the lead). It is just so weird because he normally loves to go, but now he refuses. Just sits down and pulls towards home. Frosty is more willing but weirded out by Monte and not really wanting to go alone.

Sorry but until I can bathe Peggy, I don't want to post pics. I don't want her getting a complex about her tear stains (less tears now as she settles more and more) or dirty legs from playing in the planters Tongues . If I bathed her now, I'd freak her out so we are waiting, giving her space and trying to make her as happy as we can. Thankfully we are all in agreement in our house and even the boys seem to understand.

Sorry for the long post... didn't realize it would go so long.

Aww, chunky lil girly Smile She has the cutest little face Love Struck
Idea, Have you tried using dog wipes where you say her lil legs are dirty? that way she isnt having the stress of the bath and it could also help bonding with close contact Smile .. id leave her face for the minute tho unless shes ok with you doing it

She looks lovely Ben and you certainly shouldn't be camera shy with her!

I am quite envious of your growing pack they really all are stunners. I can't wait for the pics of all 3 out on a walk together in time. Well done you should be really chuffed Smile

She looks lovely and I'm sure she will appreciate being part of your family.

Just wondering where you are all going to sit though as it looks as though your sofa has been taken over by the Staffie gang Big Grin

Ahh Ben she is lovely, just give her some time to settle in properly she will be fine. Good to hear the boys have taken to her, silly things not wanting to go for a walk without her, I guesss they just want to know where their new friend is and why is she not coming for a walk.

Thanks for the pics the guys do look chilled out with her.

Shes so adorable, I love whites.
Have you tried giving her a wipe over with a dog wipe or dog glove? Even a baby wipe will do at a push.

Well I would, but at the moment I am very frightening to her. Working up to being able to stroke her. At the moment though she flinches when I move when she is near me, so wiping her down would probably be counter-productive at this point. No harm, its just a little dirt. When she is ready, I'll get her all cleaned up and beautiful.

Oh I didn't know she was so nervous-was she in an abusive home? How lovely she has your family and Frosty and Monte now. Smile

She was not in an abusive home (not physically) but for the first two years of her life she had nearly no human contact. She was rescued by a breeder I got Monte from and rescued Frosty through. The breeder fostered her for almost a year and Peggy became very open to her and her kids. She originally was at a home that was found to have nearly 120 dogs. She just needs time and love and she will be totally fine. I can already see her sweet personality. She just has no confidence around people, but already she is makeing huge strides! Today she even came up to me and almost seemed to be playful!
