what happened to my staffie
hi, im new to this site, but had to let you all know what happened to my staffie and the spay scheme with rspca.
I got my voucher, booked her in, then went to my appointment, she was spayed for £35 on top of that it was £20 for pain meds etc. the next day i took belle in the garden on her lead for her to have a wee etc with her buster collor on, when i got back in house i noticed lots of blood frm her wound, i phoned vets and took her straight back in.
She had to be restitched, they said she wld have to be put under again and the wound recut, i explained i didnt have alot of money at the moment cause my working tax credit had not gone in yet so what wld happen if i cldnt pay, they told me i would get debt collectors etc, be4 i knew what was happening the vet had took my dog off me and led her away, i was then made to pay £100 b4 i left surgery in tears , afraid i wldnt get my dog back, i begged and borrowed the money from friends and returned later that day to collect her, b4 they bought her out they made sure they got another £100 out of me, i then found out she had only been sedated.
Later that evening i discovered on the internet that there is a scam involving the vets that the rspca recommend you go to, what they do is, spay the dog, dont use surffiant stitching so that the wound reopens and then charge the earth to have the dog restitched etc, i spoke to alot of local vets and they all agreed that they wldnt charge to restitch, only to charge for any medication that was needed i.e antbiotics.

iv just looked for more info on this scam but nothing seem to be coming up but what i did find was evidence of the rspca neutering pups as young as 6 weeks old

Yes, I've heard that. Although the RSPCA are now denying they've actually done that - they say that they wouldn't be against it, but haven't done it as yet.
