I'm sure she is a fussy eater!
Kaos is 9 weeks, She started on eukanuba but then after visiting vets moved on Royal Canin because he said it was too rich and she needs bland food because she was bloated. So he recommended Royal canin, eventually weening her on it fully away from Eukanuba all was good for a few days, then she would stop eating that. I'd put down the bowl and she nibbled a bit and then thought no and walked off. I kept enticing her back to the bowl, but she would never just get stuck in!!!!
Well I've put her now on Wainwight, low and behold she doesn't seem to keen on that either! I did the same moved her carefully from Royal Canin to Wainwright but she is starting to be fuzzy with that now.....
I'm starting to think Kaos is the most food fuzzy dog in the world. I measure out 190 a day and divide it by three so she gets a morning, afternoon, and evening meal. she is in no way underweight nor over weight just about right, but she never seems to eat the allocated amount each day its always under, and like other dogs I've owned she never eats all in the fruit bowl and appears starving.
In two weeks time I'll be able to take her out for walks, I assume the increase in exercise will make her hungry? Just a bit concerned as she isn't eating the right amount, and I don't want her growth stunted.
Maybe she just doesn't like dried food is that even possible?

Just had a look at that oil, £4 a bottle I would consider that worth ago. The only thing that concerns me is the bag says 190 per day, she has only eaten just over half that. Are the measurements on the bags over generous?

Re: I'm sure she is a fussy eater!
I've got a fussy eater too and it drives me mad!! The only dry food she will eat is Barking Heads and I even have trouble getting her to eat that. She eats hardly anything all day just turns her head away from the bowl. She seems to only be interested in eating in the evening. At times she will only eat when she thinks I'm eating it!
Millie was the same as Kaos would eat food for a few days and then go completely off it. Our cats thrived on Eukanuba a few months back! Have tried feeding her raw and she just vomited it all back up.
Someone recommended to try food with fish in it as there is a stronger smell to it. The Barking Heads has salmon so it seems to work. I also worry that she's not eating enough but can't force it into her.

Mia only ever eats what she wants to, I know that she isn't underweight and I also know that she won't let herself starve!!
I think all girls are a bit "pratty" with their food, and like to make you run around after them worrying!! whereas most boys just gobble it all straight away!!

The bottle recommends 2 x teaspoons per day = 10 ml = 50 days. but I used half for Taz when I used it
*edit* you have to use the bottle within 3 months of opening it

Re: I'm sure she is a fussy eater!
Are you feeding her any table scraps or alot of treats? She cold be holding out for something better. Try leaving the bowl down for 10 minutes and then picking it up until the next meal time. She won't let herself starve and will catch on after a bit.

Re: I'm sure she is a fussy eater!
Thanks,
I Tried with the 10 minutes this morning, she took a few munches and walked off, so I nicely said if you don't want it that's upto you, food got put away. When lunch came, amazingly she ate it all!... What happens this evening who knows, but it seems to be working. I've also cut back a little on the treats!
I'm hoping when I do start taking her for walks, her metabolism will kick in and she will want to eat more :-)

i defo recomend salmon oil.
u could always try a raw egg mixed into her dry food.
OR even a table spoon or natural yogurt mixed into it.
