pink around mouth
hi i have been to look at some blue staff pups today they are around 3weeks old and i am thinking about putting a deposit on him tomorrow
he has some pink around his mouth upper lip under his nose and bottom jaw allthough his nose is not pink..
i have read that it is a fault if he has a pink nose or around the rim of his eye? is this a problem him having some pink around his mouth?
many thanks

Re: pink around mouth
I'm not sure but there are lots of experienced handlers on the forum. Here is a link on how to chose a pup.

Re: pink around mouth
It isn't preferred but not a serious fault. The nose is more important than the other two I believe (someone can correct me if I am wrong). However, if you are picking for a pet, doesn't much matter as long as they are healthy from good healthy parents with excellent health and temperaments.

Re: pink around mouth
I've only ever seen pink noses/ mouth /paw pads on tiny pups such as newborn till a few weeks old. My diesel was born with pink nose/mouth and paws but once she was a few weeks old ( still with mum) she and her litter mates all changed to black nose, lost the pink around the mouth and dark pads, also dark eye rims.
I dont even know of any blues that have a pink nose or mouth once older.... So IMO their pigment is yet to develop.
Are the pups pedigree ? From registered sire and dam?
