how do i stop my 7 month staffy running off when distracted
hi,i have tried everything, whistle training, treats, shouting lol he is fine when its just us,running for his ball and bringing it back but as soon as he is bored with that or spots another person/dog/bike/anything that looks like fun,he is off.i do keep him on the lead but he is so energetic he needs to run it off a walk is not sufficient.he is huge for his age but thinks everyone loves him and feels the need to say hello to everyone.obviously not everyone appreciates this,he does not have an aggressive bone in him, just wants to play.....please help x

Hi & welcome to the forum.
You could try putting him on a long line (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-ft-Long-Dog-TRAINING-Lead-LARGE-Various-Colours-/130506236996?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&var=&hash=item641f221e0f), just let it trail & if he runs off & won't respond to you calling him, just pick up the end & reel him in!

Hi from Claire and Rolo May be worth increasing the value of the treat.... instead of a bit of biscuit try a little sausage, cheese or chicken?
