What dog food?
Another thread about puppy size got me thinking about what dog food people use. Before Jake died he was on a special diet. He could only have Burns fish and Brown rice which was expensive but a real quality food. He never had wind (gas) and his stools were always firm. Previous to that we'd had him on Bakers and he, to put it bluntly, stunk! I had to go to a specialist pet supplies for his Burns and the man there explained that it was probably the Bakers that caused his illness because of the rubbish thats in it (his illness was crystal and stone formations). Also Jake (like most staffies) suffered with skin complaints all his life until he went on the Burns. After that his skin and fur was perfect. Bakers ect aren't hypoallergenic and can cause skin problems, particularly bad for STB's.
Nellie was on Pets at Home Veterinary approved food with raw Tripe mixed in. But we recently moved her on to James Wellbeloved as we've been advised it just as good but slightly cheaper, oh and still still gets some raw tripe. She doesn't have any wind at all, does firm well formed poos and has been easy to toilet train. I'd never use a cheap food again.
Just wondering what everyone else uses and if anyone else has had problems with supermarket foods?

We've had Rocky on James Wellbeloved for about the last year and have no complaints so far. His coat is always healthy and shiney, we often get complemented on it when out for walks.

Thats because supermarket brands are just that, a brand, advertising, appearence and smell is made to appeal to us hence why its filled with cr*p!
Moo was on Royal canin when she was on a vetenary diet, then I swapped to JWB from advice here, and now she is on Fish4Dogs which suits her perfectly
I don't know where you buy yours from but I always use www.chemistdirect.co.uk, worth a look, its cheaper and delivered
