no intest in toys?!!?!?

hi guys for some reason from a young pup Bruiser has never really been intrested in amusing himself with toys....... he just destroys them instantly or completely ignores them- he doesnt even like playing fetch! he loves bones however, but even a stuffed kong he will get bored with!
he loves going for walks etc but just wondering if anyone elses staffies arent that intrested in toys?
even if i or a relative play with him with a toy he gets bored after a min or two!!!

Maybe he needs the interaction with you and a toy, try something like a tug toy,



He may need a bit more stimulation

Moo isn't interested in anything that she can't destroy! Boomer ball is a no go she just barks at it! She will play fetch but if she can't destroy it she ain't interested!

sasha is the same,i can't think of a toy that has lasted for more than 5 mins,rope toys last a bit longer thou.i spent a fortune on toys at xmas,waste of money cos they were all in bits after they were all opened,guess she had fun while they lasted lol

Make sure you win tuggy as some dogs can see it as gaining dominance if they win. Always remove the tuggy at the end. Of course all dogs are different. Jake always just wanted to destroy things. The only thing that lasted him was nylon bones. He'd grind them down over time but he also managed to grind his teeth down as well! Nellies still got her baby teeth so toys last her quite well at the moment.

Romeo was never really interested in toys apart from squeaky balls that he would squeak and then 'sing' to. I miss him doing that, I should have recorded it when he was a wee pup! Apart from that he liked pulling apart stuffed toys and making a mess.
His favourite toy was a mini plastic cosmetic basket!

The only "toys" Toby plays with on his own are un-collapsed empty bottles; he completly ignores his ball and kong. Not fun when he breaks into the recycling bag to get them, though.

Dora like things she can shake or through around. She will run around the room like a loony with them.
She really loves anything that squeaks too but most of her squeaky toys have died now (and not been replaced cos she eats them too easily)
She also loves her food/treat balls.
I've just bought her some deer antlers to chew and she loves them, also she loves smokey bones.
To be honest she'll play with anything. One of her favourite games is stealing a carrier bag and shredding it
