Staring and whining.
Lola has been SO clingy.
She's has been sat staring at me and OH, trying to get onto the couch (front paws up, back paws on floor) she'll whine as well.
She gets 2 walk daily, one morning one a=lasting 30mins with a good run/fetch with fisbee and another at night for about 20mins.
Is it a dominating thing or attention seeking??

Re: Staring and whining.
marley sometimes does a similar thing, his is mostly to gain attention for fusses or walks, the only way we tell them apart is if we move he'll either jump up on the sofa or run to his harness

Without going through every post, is Lola in season?

Re: Staring and whining.
She may be bored, although she is physically stimulated she may not be mentally, thats usually the issue especially with the staring.

Re: Staring and whining.
It does sound like she is wanting attention. My 2 will do it from time to time and you have to go through a whole list of things to work out what it is lol

i don't speak for janey but IMO, the number of replies to your posts indicates real interest in what you have to say. again, i speak only for myself, for what it's worth.

That isn't what Janey meant at all! She just means that to avoid going through the posts to find out if you've said whether or not she's in season.........is she?

Definitely! I don't think anyone can post too much, it shows how much you care!
I was also going to ask if she could be in season? It's also posssible that she needs a bit more exercise or mental stimulation. I know when I had Bandit, a 30 minute walk to him was just a warm up for the main event! Anything less than 45mins just wsn't enough, and he really needed about an hour or more morning & evening, with a 20-30 min walk lunch time.

Re: Staring and whining.
To be honest as long as she is clean, walked, fed, watered and generally well cared for and loved i wouldnt worry to much. I have a very hectic life what with 2 kids of my own 4 step kids, work, the rescue, etc etc and although my 2 boys are ALWAYS well cared for walked and loved etc i really havent the time to sit for hours with them pandering to thier every need. I know that sounds absolutley awful but imo dogs have to fit in with your life to a certain extent. Dont get me wrong Ty has needed a lot of work and attention to get him 2 where he is now (he was a rescue) but know he just has to fit in with our lives and he does very well

Re: Staring and whining.
Dora will just sit and look at me sometimes. It seems to be when she is bored of all her toys and wants entertaining. Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable sometimes - lol
The way I see it though, if I always try and find her something to play with or try to entertain her when she stares, she'll realise it is a successful way of getting my attention and do it more.
Sometimes I just talk random stuff to Dora when she does it. She prob sits thre wondering what on earth I'm wittering on about
Lola's behaviour sounds attention seeking. Might be best to ignore it and she might stop after a while if it gets her nowhere.
@Carly. I totally agree with your post and I don't think it came across badly at all. Our doggy friends have to learn to fit in with our lifestyles.
