Doggy duvet days
The missus here. About once every three weeks Sophie has a duvet day. I walk Sophie more than Bob due to his shift patterns. We have a routine in as much as I shower and dress and put on the tracksuit trousers and slippers. Then, when I am ready with hair dry etc I go and change into trainers in the bathroom (only room Sophie proof) and emerge. This is the point where Sophie is staring at the trainers getting very excited knowing full well we are imminent in our walkies.
It is the only time I wear trainers, hence the 'walkies' connection.
About once every few weeks, I emerge from the bathroom, complete with tracksuit and trainers on, ready to take her out. She remains on the sofa pretending neither she or I exist. She shows absolutely no desire to go out and just chills out, where she is. Even if I pick up the lead she looks the other way.
She is not ill or even off colour when this happens, she is just being lazy. At 16 months I would have expected her to take every opportunity to get out and about but every so often she just fancies chillling out for the day.
She does get a good and energetic play later in the day.
Is she unusual in her laid back attitude?

Most days Violet would rather not go out for a walk, and just stay on the couch instead. I can't decide if she is agoraphobic or just lazy

Re: Doggy duvet days
both of ours cry and carry on at the door to get out unless its raining then lemmy has lots of duvet days cos he hates getting wet. it is after the walks that they will come home lie in bed and not move untill the last walk at night. if they didnt need to pee they wouldnt emerge at all i dont think but even when they get up to pee it is a quick splash and dash back home to bed
