My puppies cant stand each other- HELP!!
My husband and I adopted a 6 month old Staffy cross we named Cassie about a month ago. All was well except everytime we would leave her on her own she would whine till kingdom come. So in an effort to curb her loneliness we decided to get a male companion.
We've since brought a 3 month old Staffy named Tyson into our home and they just cant seem to keep their teeth off each other. Tyson cant go anywhere without Cassie herding him like sheep. If he persists then he gets some serious biting from Cassie which will result in Tyson trying to fight back to no avail. im always playing referee and shouting "Stop it" "No" "Sit" "Dont Bite". I've been bitten in some cases whilst trying to separate them.
Its a nightmare trying to get them to act civil. We thought Cassie was going to be the role model but its as if all the training we had done with her has gone to waste.
I just want them to get along. What am i doing wrong?

hia from me and sasha, sounds like cassie is showing him that she was here first and he got to do as he's told!is she standing over him?have you got a crate or may be some where one can go to give them time out from each other.they will get on you just need to give them time, watch their play and soon as it looks like it might be getting a bit rough step in,never leave them unsupervised.

You are doing the right thing and at such a young age they are very playfull and energetic as well. Here is a link on body language to show you what to look for

Hi & welcome to the forum.
I think maybe you got the 2nd pup too soon! However, that being said, you can't go back & change anything now.
All you can do is keep up what you're doing now! You need to make sure that you don't allow any bullying at all, and make sure that both dogs know that whatever you tell them to do must be done immediately. Eventually (and hopefully) they will sort out their own order, but in the meantime you will have to step in. Also, never leave them alone together - a little scrap can so easily turn into something much more serious.
What you will have to bear in mind, though, is that some dogs will never like each other. Hopefully that isn't the case here.

Re: My puppies cant stand each other- HELP!!
Thank you all for your advice and welcoming me into the Staffy owners family.
i did try the crate and it seems to work only when they are apart. as soon as i leave them together for work then its back to square one.
i havent lost hope. will continue learning till i get it right.
i gotta admit that having staffies is the best decision we made. wldnt change it for the world.
