Stand up from a 'sit'
Harry will sit, down/stay, give paw, high five, roll over, play dead and speak but I can't work out how to get him to stand up from a sit or from a down/stay. Can anyone tell me how to train him to do it please?

Re: Stand up from a 'sit'
What I used to do was place a log or a lump of wood in front of the dog while it's sitting, then stand by his right side. With your right hand hold his collar lightly, and run your left hand along his side & then gently underneath his belly while you say "Stand". He should lift his back end up, and the wood infront of him should stop him creeping forward.

Re: Stand up from a 'sit'
I used to say "up" and Loki somehow knew what to do straight away...probably because he loves treats so much he'll attempt anything if he doesn't know the answer . Anyway, with my old dog, I taught him it by getting him to lie down, and then gently pushing his chest while I said stand, and he'd stand up. Then when he understood the word, I'd move onto trying it while he was sitting.
