Keeping your dog warm
What do you do for night time. Thinking of keeping the heating on very low to keep Billy warm, cause he can't pull covers over him when he gets cold. Is it a good idea

Bailey gets under my covers in bed haha and if he gets too warm he just gets out but my heating is usually always on but just low at night!

Re: Keeping your dog warm
lemmy sleeps with me and lottie gets on the other couch with a fury throw she lies on. they were in the kitchen in their beds to start with but when the cold nights came in the living room is the warmest room even with no heating on so they sleep in there now. theres also a bercorner if they choose to use it with lots of blankets and pillows so they can get snuggle din that lot.

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Ours are in our bed. They lay all over me to stay warm and even get under the covers occasionally. In the dead of winter and I need air conditioning! Good for you keeping the heater on for Billy!

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Ledger will get under the covers at the start of the night though I wish he would lie on my feet to keep them warm
When he sleeps over at my parents he sleeps in the conservatory with their dog he has a giant cushion (bargain £5 off the market) on his chair and they have a small radiator on between them at this time of year.

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Zac is crated in our room and he has a fleece crate liner and bed inside it, plus blankets if he wants them .... No doubt when he is older and I can trust him not to go walkabout in the night, he will sleep on our bed

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Millie sleeps on the bed, under the covers when she's cold but Bella can't be trusted yet not to wee on the bed or be able to roam the house during the night lol. She is in the livingroom in her crate and we have storage heaters, useless things that heat up during the night and by teatime - late evening the house is freezing, so she is nice and warm

Rocky sleeps on the bed with us all the time. He is such a tart he doesn't like to sleep by himself.

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Mine sleep under the stairs, Kaos is his crate and Ty in his bed. We have a small oil filled radiator we put the other side of the dog gate (after kaos electricuted (spelling?) himself yesterday and blew the fuses by chewing through the cable!)

Re: Keeping your dog warm
Lola was sleeping in her crate in the kitchen but I felt bad when it got cold so now she is "supposed" to sleep at the bottom of the bed but she creeps up when we have nodded off and always ends up under the duvet. I can not believe how loud she snores!!

Re: Keeping your dog warm
sasha sleeps in the water cupboard
Sounds odd but we have a large space ( unused ) under our hot water tank in the kitchen i was going to put shelfs in it for storage then i put sashas bed in there and its nice and cosey she has tones of blankets and even two cushions
the water is set to run 24/7 and as the kitchen has no radiator it gets cold in there but the cupboard stays nice and cosy so cosy we used to put the clothes horse in there to dry washing! lol

Re: Keeping your dog warm
it really is, the heat from the water tank keeps it cosey i know its verry hot at the top but since its enclosed some of the heat travels down + just out of the shot at the top is two 2" pipes that are boxed in that carry the water to the tank so it acts like a radiator for her lol

Re: Keeping your dog warm
under the covers for Tilly , best for us as well so we still have all the duvet as we don't have the valley in the middle, if she gets too warm she will come out and lie across the bottom of the bed
