My puppy lola is stone deaf.shes white with black patch on eye and speckles of black on ears.gawjus girly.she very clever.learnt sit.stay.lay down and goes into crate on command.i opted for private dog training rather than a class with her unlike my other dog.shes still not house broken however getting much better.she adores our other 2 dogs and cats.only down fall to her is she can get stupidly hyper knocking everybody and everything and dosent know i want to put pics up but laptops broke :(sowwy"

If you want to compare notes, just start a thread with the title FAO chloexxx - I'm sure that Sue will be happy to share her experiences with Blake!

Re: does anybody have a deaf staffy?
I had previous staffies, mainly rescues who have been completly deaf.
I have trained all of them with hand signals. They were abandoned due to the deafness as people said they couldnt train them.
If you work hard with sign and signal training you will have a cracking dog. Mine used to wear bright pink bandannas with IM DEAF embroidered on them so people knew they couldnt hear.
They were fab dogs and miss them gratelly

Re: does anybody have a deaf staffy?
Hi there! We have three deaf dogs; an 8-year-old Boston called Mini, a 4-year-old Staffy boy called Sergei and a 2-year-old Staffy girl called Evie. We also have two hearing Bostons, Earl and Kalevi. They're all brilliant. I found house-training Mini and Sergei took quite long, but Evie on the other hand learnt it in an instant. I'm sure getting stupid and hyper goes for most Staffy puppies, deaf or hearing I remember our late Staffies, Samson and Freja (RIP mommy's Little Boy and Little Girl), used to go absolutely nuts as well, and didn't heed a thing at that stage, might as well have been deaf.
Would love to see pics of little Lola!

Re: does anybody have a deaf staffy?
Only looked at the first dozen or so but........cute!!
I'd be careful, though, with your son & staffs (I take it that's your son?) - little boys can be really vicious! Seriously, it's always good to see pics of young children with staffs (and other dogs, of course!).

Re: does anybody have a deaf staffy?
I could show u picture of my friends son in the dog cage but you'd have me for child cruelty!!
Hell, I'll show you any way- he put himself in there and shut the door!!
he has a thing for the dog cage and pushes his staffy out the cage so he can lay down in it his self!!
The dog looks puzzled every time he does it LOL

Re: does anybody have a deaf staffy?
I will say tho ive stopped my son going in there crates.as there crates are the only plave they can get away from him if they need to.and if a child is pushing a dog out of its safe zone its kinda askin for trouble so mine no longer do it.i diddent realy care until we rescued an aggressive staffy but take them steps so everybody feels happy
