A question for the opposite sex
Why do women tend to have a lot of pillows on the bed? When it comes to my mother, sister, other family members, friends and the ex girlfriend......they'll have 5-6 or more pillows on the bed. When I ever stayed at my ex's place, I'd have to push the pillows off, sometimes I'd trip over them in the middle of the night. I sleep with one pillow, therefore I only have one pillow on my bed.
Ladies explain it to me.....

It definitely is... plus... it is nice when I'm reading for the cosy factor... so put comfort in there too I do, however, stack them all neatly of a night so no one trips

Re: A question for the opposite sex
Good grief, that's a lot of pillows!
I have 4 pillows on the bed (two each) but I throw one of them on the floor when I get in!

Re: A question for the opposite sex
I only use one pillow when asleep and 3 for when reading in bed: 2 for my back (I do have a back injury) and one to rest the book on when reading.
Hubby uses 5-6 pillows when asleep

Re: A question for the opposite sex
Ahhh it's OK, he too has a problem with his back, and a problem with his neck, and a problem with his leg.
He was sadly born with a disability which was not diagnosed until he was a young boy. Most of his problems stem from that issue so I can tolerate the use of all the pillows.
He had a dislocated hip at birth which caused one leg to grow at a different rate to the other. He then had one leg longer than the other.
He has endured many operations over the years to correct the difference which is now only a fraction to what is was it still causes considerable pain though, goodness knows what it was like before.

Ok well that's fair enough, sounds like he needs the pillows.

But it looks pretty curling up in them with a good book and a cup of tea next to me is always a nice way to spend an evening too

Cause they look nice.
I have a question for you, why do men never wash their bedding?

Because their silly mums and step-mums do it for them as they hate the odour that permeates from the son's bedroom and they want to look after their linen. Thus creating a rod for some other poor females back down the track.

Re: A question for the opposite sex
Thanks I think I will print the first few lines of your reply only
He has rubbish bins (but forgets to look in the freezer part of the fridge for the leftover meat/fat/chicken carcous, that is usually found there due to it being too hot to put straight in the bin over here).
When hubby is doing the lawns he will try and get A upright enough to help or takeover. I do the stupid roses and pruning.
We do the rest.
Do you still lay in bed till 1pm (or later) or can I hope this will improve significantly over the next 2 years.
OMG!! I just admitted he could still be living with us in two years time

Re: A question for the opposite sex
I have 4 pillows (2 each), but mine are both for "tummy sleepers", so pretty flat. Trevor's are fat ones that make him snore and he sleeps on both, but I'm not allowed to change them

Re: A question for the opposite sex
Love this post. I often ask my wife why we have all the pillows on the couch as well, which we all remove when we sit on it. It is esthetics for her as well. The ones on the bed not used for sleeping are for looks (although we don't bring guests into our bedroom... so?). In fact, she doesn't like me to lean on the pretty ones at all. "You are going to make them creased and look bad." Guess it is for her viewing pleasure. Isn't really an issue as I stash the ones I don't use for sleeping (I am a 1 pillow guy).

Re: A question for the opposite sex
in a similar vain I have some fluffy toys on the bed..a couple of rhinos (Tony's 2nd fav animal ).. my panda that I got when I was born ( 50 years old soon! ) and a couple of other soft toys, and yet every night they get thrown on the floor..and then when I make the bed next morning they are placed on the pillows again... and so it goes on....

they look nice with nice covers on and also if we are reading a book in bed you need extra to prop yourself up on and get comfy

Re: A question for the opposite sex
I bet you have never washed your own bed! I don't understand it i really don't. There is NOTHING worse than going to a guys house and taking yourself on the sneeky tour while going to the loo and smelling the bed clothes from standing at the door!!! I'm not promiscuous but if a guy were looking to get lucky in any way his chances are dashed immediately by that crime lol

I'm not complaining nor am I against multiple pillows on the bed, I just don't get it. Which is why I asked the question.

Dan, you such a boy! Cushions are pleasing to the eye. Look comfy and are nice to curl up with. Besides, what would Tyson have to bury himself in if there were none?

A blanket?
I don't know I just think pillows on the bed that aren't used are redundant. But from what gathering in here it's a visual thing, it looks better.
and I've got a couple people having a go at me questioning whether I make the bed or clean my sheets. Which probably means I've hit a nerve with a couple people
Oh well

Excellent point. The dogs love loads of pillows! Don't think they could ever have too many the way they like to burrow! Yes, change the bedding regular. It is the right thing to do. Was forced to learn that very young. With all my sisters, it was like 4 mommies. At least I learned!

Re: A question for the opposite sex
I love loads of pillows and a big thick duvet. I can have one pillow no problem, but it has to be a big bulky one, as if it were 2 pillows. I've tried sleeping with no pillows, but I get a blocked nose ! Strange, but true.
