I don't normally like Titchmarsh (he's a fox hunting supporter!) but that was a good 7 minutes of sensible advice! Well done, Alan Titchmarsh!

Good, common sense advice.

Unfortunately, yes. He was one of the most vocal celebrities against the ban on foxhunting/hunting with dogs. Shame, cause otherwise I don't think he's too bad...bit soft, but he can't help that!

If he has a good point and helps the plight then we should concentrate on that one , dare say even Hitler had one or 2 things going for him

Lesson learnt My father died on Sunday and he had a very "colourful past" (we had spoke twice in 10 years) nontheless we still managed to find something good and genuine for the Vicar, like Hitler we just have to sweep a lot of other things under the carpet to get it

Dave, I'm so sorry to hear that.
Did you manage to bury your differences before he died?

No need for sympathy Caryll, we sort of had (as far as he was concerned anyway) and I was there when he went so I don't have any demons lurking around , closed chapter of life,
Anyway back to the Alan Titchmarsh story - there's more good to come out of that one

Re: Good on Alan Titchmarsh
I loved the dog lying on his back (Finch, was it?) for his belly to be tickled! They chose some good dogs for the programme, let's hope people who saw it will think twice before branding them all vicious.

3 great dogs and typical staffs, loved the pup and if I was allowed I would have drove down and took Finch there and then, would love to give an older dog a home and that last few years of happiness but the Mrs would not ever entertain the idea because of the short lived emotional attachment , but I wouldn't mind being heartbroken every few years for the reward in it.
Anway we are off to see the grandbairn and Tilly's bestest friends Zarr and Narla (the lads 2 Bull mastiffs) followed by a nice canal walk and a pub meal (plenty under the table titbits for Tilly)

Damn. Another video only available in the UK. Good thing is it is reaching the audiences that need it most perhaps.

Sorry Lynn had a look on you tube but not there yet, it's basically a vet giving good sensible guidance on how to react to a potential dog attack (on a dog) and follows on with people from Battersea dogs home promoting Staffies as the lovable friendly breed they are with a younger rescue, a puppy and an old dog needing a home and they are all evry bit with the temperament we expect of our kids, so a good positive bit of UK daytime TV

Re: Good on Alan Titchmarsh
I was going to post a link about this Alan Titchmarsh programme as my Mum-in-law told me about it the other day. I see Dave beat me to it though.
Weren't they lovely Staffies on the programme
My mum and dad-in-law were dead against us getting a staffie originally cos they had heard bad stuff about them. She now loves Dora though and I'm sure she would now recommend the breed to others.
If we can change a few opinions about the breed at a time, hopefully word will spread. I feel like my husband and I and Dora and have done our bit to change some views
