I work with a notebook and a desktop linked to a web server and sql server. Everything is networked. I have been meaning for ages to backup all my data on my desktop as there is more that 10 years worth of accumulated spreadsheets, documents, websites, music and photos.

My desktop crashed this evening..................................all attempts at resuscitation have failed and I am screaming into my cider. Very quietly skull Crying or Very sad skull

take it to the tech guys or something they may be able to retreive it all for you

We're not good at backing things up either. Our laptop crashed a few months ago and we hired someone to retrive all the data and load it onto our new computer.

Cost $200-$300 and a few hours I think but it beats losing everything
