Bum dragging?! Empty Bum dragging?!

Well, as it say's in the title really! Has anyone any idea why she's stated to do this? Ya know, the sit down and scuttle along with her bumhole on the floor! (LOVELY!) She hasn't got worms and I haven't changed her food/diet, so I'm kinda at a loss. I'm hoping it's not the dreaded anal gland thing anyway! sick

Sounds like the glands. May need to express them or take her to the groomer and have it done. Otherwise sick she will find a way to take care of it without your help.

I would think it was a gland issue as well. The vets can do it for you.

How do you know it isn't worms? Even worming doesn't work 100% so could still be that. If not I'm afrai it's a pair of goggles and fabreeze.

If its definately not worms it does sound like its the anal glands. Millie has to get hers emptied now and again. She also bites at the inside of her back legs, the vet said that was her trying to sort it out herself Sad I take her to the vet to get it done, takes 2 people with her, I hold her the vet gets the pleasant job of emptying sick

Really seems like glands. Ty has them done every now and then.

She's had a quite intense treatment of Advocate for a demodex problem, which as the vet said kills all parasites (including worms) I also gave her an oral wormer from the vets last week when I first saw her bum scuttling! Plus there's absolutely nothing in her stools so I'll assume it's not worms!

It is looking possibly like the anal glands (brilliant!) after a google search, I'll keep an eye for now as it says they can sort themselves out if not it's the vets AGAIN!

Thanks everyone Smile

Definitely the glands, probably won't sort itself out but you can ! Add a flat tablespoon of Allbran (crushed up) to each feed, works a treat but you'll need to get the glands done this time.

See if you can see a nurse as they can do it without the cost of the vet. Needs to be done and its certainly not something I would want to do myself!!!
