Toast?
Hi
My Bella loves toast in the mornings, so I give her 2 slices dry cut up with her normal food. Is this ok?

Re: Toast?
Its not going to do her any harm, breads not apart of a dogs diet, but you find with most dogs they will eat any think...

Re: Toast?
i wouldnt give it every day as bread yeast can couse gas buildup in the intestiense
but as said a little should do no harm
ps
live bread yeast and brewers yeast are totally differant
as you may find brewers in a lot of dry dog foods

Re: Toast?
i saw a notice on diet in the vets and it said that a slice of buttered toast to a dog is the equivelant to a hamburger. its the butter i supose but a slice of dry toast wouldnt be the same so i dont see the harm. lemmy loves toast but only if its buttered so its a treat for him now and again.

Re: Toast?
I don't give Dempsey bread (apart from a tiny piece of crust when I finish mine!) because of the wheat content. Wheat really isn't very good for dogs.
The yeast isn't a problem because the heat produced whilst cooking kills the yeast off so it doesn't produce gas any more. That's why you should allow bread to cool before eating so that the gases stop being produced.

Re: Toast?
Just lessen the butter and sugar if you put any of it in your toast. My american staffordshire terrier also loves toast.
