is blade getting nasty
well i dont know whats getting into blade his always been good with dogs but when i got zena his changing its sticking his tail up and growing at other dogs i try and correct him but its not helping. i dont want him to get like this because i get looks for having a staffy as it is i dont want a nasty one and to prove people peoples point. i cant even let him off lead anymore. i dont know if its been nasty he sticks tail up puts his head up wags his tail side to side then smells the dogs bum then jumps in the air his not bitten any dog but when the owners see him like this they think his going to bite there dog.

Re: is blade getting nasty
Vinnie sometimes gets like this but ONLY when i have skye with me too .. he feels he needs to protect both myself and skye so he becomes on guard im not sure if it was because she was due in season at the time as he hasnt come across another dog with skye since, he has never attacked and will play if the opposite dog passes his test lol.
i cant say for sure that it is what blade is doing but sounds similar .. is zena with you when he gets like this?

Re: is blade getting nasty
is there anyway you can take him on the odd one or two walks on his own so you can get a feel for what his like without zena? .. if he quits the behavior with out her there then maybe he is just protecting her, such a shame people in your area have the bad impression about staffys as it will be alot harder to socialize him if that's what people do.
I always walk my two separate once a day, most days and they always have there evening walk together, just because skye started to get very reliant on vinnie and become timid when she was out without him.

i agree with what has been said above. it a shame people think the way they do about staffys. i have the same in the area i live. the response to River has mostly been bad. so much so i didnt want to take her to p@h today. shame i dont live close to anyone on forum or we could arrange a social dog thing. i took River to the country park and two joggers came towards us with a chuffin great 4 legged dog..they took one look at little River, turned round and ran the other way..lol..
